for the service.
Conference
The newly appointed Presid
ing Elder, Dr. C. C. Scott, pre
sided over the first Quarterly
Conference for the Conference
Year 1969-1970, at Bethl Church,
Monday evening, Dec. 13, at
8:00 p.m.
During the business session
officers were retained for the
year. They are, Mrs. Maude Ed
wards, secretary, Mrs. Aleece
Faulkner, and Mrs. Catherine
Gill, assistants. Mr. Monroe
Snipes and Mr. Charles Hamil
ton were appointed Marshals.
Reports for all organizations,
departments and boards were
read and received by the Con
ference.
A short but Impressive me
morial service was held In mem
ory of the deceased members of
the church this quarter. They
were Dr. Charles U. DeBerry
and Mr. Curtis Farrar.
All Stewards of the church
were retained. They were con
firmed at this session.
Dr. Scott expressed himself as
being glad to preside In this
District, and is looking forward
to a prosperous year.
Senior Citizens Dinner
The Senior Members of Bethel
were honored at a dinner Sun
day, Dec. 14, following the 11:00
a.m. service. This affair was
sponsored by the Pastor's Aid
Club and the Gospel Choir. The
Pastor and Presidents of these
organizations wish to thank all
members and friends who helped
in any way to make this dinner
a success. Those senior members
who could not be present had
dinner delivered to their homes
by other members of the church
in order that no one was left out.

day Schools of the Western
North Carolina Conference and
their assistants were dinner
guests.
