BEGONIA GARDEN CLUB First February Meeting Mrs. Samuel Headen served as hostess lor the Begonia Gar den Club Wednesday, Feb. 4, with Mrs. Donnell Pearce, pre siding. Membership cards were given each member. Following the business session, Mrs. Headen gave a very in teresting and informative lec ture in the Conservation series on Trees, naming the different trees in North Carolina, includ ing the State tree, the pine tree, and the Dogwood tree which bears our state flower. Each member was given a booklet on trees. Mrs. Mildred Heed and Mrs. Dorsey Hayes are conser vation leaders In the club. Mem bers present were, Mesdame* J. E. Burnett, W. I. Peterson, C. O. Second February Meeting On Wednesday, Feb. 18, Mrs. Roscoe Parker served u hos tess lor the Begonia Garden Club when they met In th? home of Mrs. Donnell Pearce on Llano Place at 8:00 p.m. The activity of the evening was a Flower Arrangement Workshop, using artificial flowers. Tiny ar rangements were made by the group for patients at the Caro lina Nursing Home. Fourteen arrangements were made. They will be taken to the Nursing Home by the Club's Civic Com mittee, Mrs. Alphonzo Gore, Mrs. Mildred Reed and Mrs. James Burnett. Members taking part in the workshop were Mesdames Man ley Royal, James Tonkins, Jr., Everett Graves, C. O. Gill, Don nell Pearce, Samuel Headen, J. E. Burnett, Charles Anderson, Melvin Henderson, and Alphoa zo Gore. Several members ol the Chib attended the District meeting February 7, at 11:00 sjn. in Carver Hall at A&T State Uni versity.
