pital, alter a brief illness.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, August 25, 1970, at
3 p.m. from the House of Prayer
Church. Burial followed in Pied
mont Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors are: his wife, Mrs.
Minnie Lee Yarbary of the
home; mother, Mrs. Margaret

day, Aug. 23, 1970, at L. Rich
ardson Memorial Hospital, after
a lengthy illness.

p.m. from Laughlin Memorial
United Methodist Church, with
Rev. W. N. Johnson, officiating.
Burial followed in the church
cemetery.

ter of Mrs. Lillian P. Rhodes

the position of Assistant Profes
sor of History and Coordinator
of Black History Program at
Albany State College, Albany,
Ga.
Having attended college in
Orangeburg, S. C. Temple Uni
versity, she received a masters
degree at A&T in Greensboro.
She previously taught in the
Philadelphia Public School Sys
tem for many years.
Mrs. Starg served as a con
sultant in the black studies pro
gram where her services in
cluded speaking at various
schools, leading various adult
groups, leading a teachers in
service courses and writing
guide lessons at the Board of
Education. Presently she hopes
to begin working toward a doc
torate degree.
MR. HARVEY ROBERSON
Mr. Harvey Roberson, age 58
died at Moses Cone Hospital,
Sunday night, August 23rd fol
lowing a brief illness. He lived
at 202 Shaw St.

DISEASE BENEFIT

ball talent, have been signed to
participate in a nationally-pro
moted football game for the
benefit of the Sickle Cell Di
sease Research Foundation.
The game will be held Satur
day, Sept. 19 in the 31,000-seat
Groves Stadium, the home play
ing field of Wake Forest Uni
versity.
