BEGONIA GARDEN CLUB
The Begonia Garden Club
held its first business meeting
of the 1970-71 year, Wednesday,
Sept. 2, with Mrs. Melvin Hen
derson, 1607 Pichard Street as
hostess. Mrs. Donnell Pearce
presided. The Calendar of Ac
tivities of the club for the year
was distributed among the mem
bers.
An excellent report of the N.
C. Federation of Garden Clubs,
held at the Hilton Inn in August,
was given by Mrs. Samuel
Headen who served as official
delegate from the club.
Mrs. Pearce received a cita
tion at the Federation for hex
leadership in her club and in
the local Council of Garden
Clubs.
The club was awarded a blue
ribbon for their Scrap Book and
Year Book.

Mrs. Pleasant, also, was a
special guest on the program
for remarks and sales, which
was very enjoyable by the
friends and family. The family
enjoyed approximately 200
friends from different cities.
