BEGONIA GARDEN CLUB The Begonia Garden Club held its first business meeting of the 1970-71 year, Wednesday, Sept. 2, with Mrs. Melvin Hen derson, 1607 Pichard Street as hostess. Mrs. Donnell Pearce presided. The Calendar of Ac tivities of the club for the year was distributed among the mem bers. An excellent report of the N. C. Federation of Garden Clubs, held at the Hilton Inn in August, was given by Mrs. Samuel Headen who served as official delegate from the club. Mrs. Pearce received a cita tion at the Federation for hex leadership in her club and in the local Council of Garden Clubs. The club was awarded a blue ribbon for their Scrap Book and Year Book. Members present were Mes dames Samuel Headen, James Tonkins, Jr., Donnell Pearce, James E. Burnett, Charles An derson, William I. Peterson, Charles O. Gill and Mrs. Melvin ' Henderson. A delicious repast of lime J frappe, cake squares, nuts and mints was served by tie hos tess; assisted by Mrs. J. E. Bur nett. The next meeting will be held September 16, with Mrs. Charles Anderson, 606 Tuscaloosa St. as hostess. This will be a Fall Workshop' meeting, with Mrs. F. B. Owens as demonstrator. THE NAPPER FAMILY HOLDS FIFTH REUNION Miss Irene Pleasant of 1312 Salem St. just returned from Lawnside, N. J. where she was a special guest at the Napper Family Fifth Reunion, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Hamilton of Oak Ave. In Lawn side, N. J. Mrs. Pleasant, also, was a special guest on the program for remarks and sales, which was very enjoyable by the friends and family. The family enjoyed approximately 200 friends from different cities. The Napper Family Rev. Willie L. Napper and wife of Greensboro, N. C.; Mrs. Cleola Hamilton of Lawnside, N. J., Miss Lillian Fiord of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Bernjce Norwood of Greensboro, N. C, Mrs. Marion Gorrell of Lawn side, N. J., Mrs. Iris Howell of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Josephine Haskins of Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Naomi Waters ol Lawnside, N. J. Ten of the Napper Family, brothers and sisters, the Wheel, yet, have not been broken by the Napper Family of the Broth ers and Sisters.
