AMERICAN BEAI7TY GARDEN CLUB MEETS The American Beauty Garden Club met on Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock, Nov. 15, at the resi dence of Mrs. Nan P. Manuel on Youngs Mill Road. The minutes of the last meet ing were read by the secretary, Mrs. Frances Gaskin. The Presi dent, Mrs. Esther Hill, gave a resume of last years work. Mrs. Martha Wyche of Wash ington, N. C. gave some hints as to what the Amaryllis Civic Flower Club in that city was doing to help beautify their community. Since their club was 17 years old, she had many other helpful suggestions as to what a club could do. She admonish ed us not to make our member ship too large, as there were many advantages in working with a smaller group. She showed us some pictures of her flower garden, and she promised to send us a scrap book that her garden club sent to the State Federation of Gar SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!! MINISTERS' WIVES CLUB OBSERVE TWO OCCASIONS The Ministers' Wives dub of Greensboro and vicinity observ ed two-fold occasions when they met Monday, Nov. 23 at the Southeast Branch YWCA in semi-monthly session. Following the completion of the devotions ? led by Mrs. Pearl Faulk; the completion of the business ? which consisted of final plans for the December 28 annual Christmas Party ? Mrs. C. C. Scott, Program Chairman, presided as Thanks giving poems were read by Mes dames C. A. Barrett, O. Simpson and G. H. Caldwell. This Thanksgiving Observance fitted in quite well with a Memorial Service which was held for Mrs. J. W. Shuford, a late member of the organization. A Tribute to Mrs. Shuford was given by Mrs. G. M. Phelps, who had j known Mrs. Shuford over the ' years, since they lived in the same community when Mrs, Phelps was a small girl and Mrs. Shuford a young woman. Several members contributed to the unusual memories which we all had of Mrs. Shuford. Members present and enjoy ing the Fellowship Hour follow ing the meeting, were: ides dames C. A. Barrett, C. C.
