Cecil Bishop, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Gant, a daughter of Jerre L. Cooke and the late Mrs. Clara Goddette Cooke, was born in Wilson, N. C. and departed this life Dec. 16, 1970 in Greensboro, N. C. She received a BS degree from Shaw University, and a degree in Elementary Education from A. and T. State University, and began her teaching career in Sept. 1939 in Craven County, worked in Wilson County four years, at Livingstone College one year and then came to the' Guilford County School System and the Greensboyo City System. Although in declining health for several years, she continued to teach and retired in 1968 from the Greensboro City School System. j She was a member of Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, a member of the Mother's Guild of the Church; and in earlier years had done extensive church work with her musician father in Wilson, N. C.; also a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Happy Hour Bridge Club, Azalea Garden Club, N. C. Teachers' Assoc iaFuneral services for Miss Mamie C. FANCHON B. MORGAN Mrs. Fanchon Bullard Mor- i gan, 49, of 1500 Salem Street, Greensboro, N. C., died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1970 at Park View Hospital in Rocky Mount, N.C. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Sunday, Dec. 6, 1970 in Rocky Mount. A memorial service was held l for Mrs. Morgan Tuesday, Dec. i 29, at Brown's Funeral Home. The Rev. J. R. McKinney, her hometown minister, delivered i the eulogy. Final funeral ser- i vices were held in her home town church in Elberton, Ga., Wednesday, Dec. 30th, followed by burial in the family plot in Elberton. Mr. B. T. McCallum, a school administrator and a long time friend of the family, read the scripture and offered , a wonderful inspirational prayer during the services at Geensboro. Mrs. Morgan was a native oi Elberton, Ga. but had made her home in Greensboro for the past 1 24 years.
