Marcellous Jeffries, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Jeffries won third place, with $135.00 reported. He was snonsored bv Mrs. Willie Mae Pope. Jewele Hinnant, fourth place winner, reporting $130.00. Proceeds from this event a total of $1,053.00 was given to the Indebtedness Rally now in | progress at Bethel Church. A tea followed, consisting of dainty sandwiches made of chicken salad, and cheese, cake squares, punch, nuts and mints. The first place winner was presented a $25.00 Savings Bond and a 14K gold- necklace. All contestants received prizes. FUTURE OUTL BIRTHDAY PARTY CELEBRATED The 5th of July birthday party was given to Michelle Annette Erwin, who is now four years old, from New Haven, Conn. The party was given by her Grandmother, Mrs. Christine Martin of 819 Reid St. The party was served by Mrs. Helena Erwin. The guest were served punch, potato chips, ice cream and cake. Norfolk State College is the defending CIAA Tourney Champ, nipping Fayetteville State University in the 1972 finals. The Basketball Tournament Committee is the arm of the CIAA charged with the overall planning and operation of the basketball tournament. This committee's work has earned the three day session the distinction as the most successful indoor sports extravaganza sponsored by blacks anywhere in this nation.
