DEATHS
MRS. RUTH CALLOWAY
Mrs. Ruth Calloway, widow of
the late Jackson Calloway, died
on Wednesday, April 4, at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie
Hoppers, with whom she had made
her home for several years. Mrs.
Calloway was one of Alleghany
county’s oldest residents, she be
ing 99 years of age at the time
of her death.
No near relatives survive.
The deceased was a member of
Mt. Carmel church.
Funeral services were conduct
ed by the Rev. Mr. Handy and
the Rev. Mir. Wyatt.
Interment was in the Mt. Car
mel cemetery.

surprise birthday dinner in honor
