Thursday, Jan. 21, 1909 A Petition We have - been requested by the Anti-Liquor League of Mad ison county to publish the foil owing petition, which will, as soon as signed by a large body of our citizens, be sent to our ' representatives in Congress to be presented to that body for its consideration. Copies of this petition will be sent into every township and voting precinct in the county and it is hoped that every citizen will sign it and thus aid in driving the demon of . drink from our land. It a sub scription school that I am teach ing now. and my daily average for the two weeks taught has been 42. Both Upper and Lower Little Creek districts will, most probably, this week petition the Board of Commissioners for ah election on the special tax ' ? Rosco, a grown-up son of Mr. F. Buckner, : whont- the latter had not seen sihce'an infant, has been visiting in his father's home since about the first of the month. After the' death of Mrs. Buckner, the child's mother, it 'Was taken by its grandmother to, Virginia and finally to ' Canada. '- Some time ago Mr.' Buckner received a ktter from his son fetating that the latter was coming' oh a visit,. Mr. Buckner has several children by his second wife, none of whom have ever seen their half brother until recently, r The young man is a Catholic.
