A WORD TO NEWS READERS I take this opportunity to ad dress a few words to those who have so loyally supported this paper for the past two years, or since its birth. I first served as Local Editor, and on Mr. Baley's retirement I became editor, in which capacity Iliave served the paper and its patrons as best I could. I now announce my resignation for the reason that I cannot spare the time necessary to make the paper just what it ought to be without neglecting my law prac tice, which I cannot give up and be sides there aie others more competent to manage the paper than myself. It is with regret that I give up the work, as It was a pleasure to me so far as I was able to do, and I still expect to do all I can for the News at all times, and wish to see the paper prosper, which, I think is a certainty. With best wishes . for my suc cessor, the paper and its patrons. , - J. Coleman Ramsey. It is with regret that we give up Mr. Ramsey as Editor of the ' News, and appreciate, what good services he has rendered in the past, and of his assurance that ' he will still lend us a helping hand in the future, so far as he can find time to do so.
