Editorial Pag The Cleveland county fuel administration committee, Mr. I. O. Griffin of Sholby. chair man, has at the instance of the tale fuel administrator, recoin manded prices for wood in Cleve land. The recommendation, which will doubtless be confirm ed by the state fuel administra tor is as follows: Wood oa wagons per cord, $4.00; delivered on cars, on rail road sidines, $3 00. This is foi four and eight foot wood. Seventy-five cents additional per cord Is allowed for sawing wood, 50 cents additional for solitling. This would make a cord of wood sawed cost $4.75. tawed and split $5.2&, For delivery, $1.00 per cord or 75c for half cord or 60c for quartee of cord is al lowed. Total $0 for cord of wood sawed, split and delivered by dealers. For a half cord the charge will be exactly half ex cept for delivery, which will b 75ceots:for a one horse load, not less than a quarter ccrd, the delivery charge will be 50 cents. This is aa increase, as author ized, over 1916 prices and is br lieved to be fair. It must bo un detstocd, however, that these Drices are per cord not for a loadf to be guessed at. When a cord of wood is uaid for it must contain 128 cubic feet. The price fixed by the ad ministration is a little higher than most folks in'Kings Motir.. tain have been called upon to pay so far and here's hoping that those who sell wood on t) e local market may continue to be satisfied with fifty per cent ad vance over normal prices. Two yav s ago t vi dolttrj and half was standard price for good wood de'ivered at yonr back door in Kings fountain. We now pay nnyheie from three to four dollars per cord. We dont b acne Farmers for a.sl'ii g a re asonable advance 0.1 wiod but the plan adopted in some placet is treasonable LrtHCings Moun tain continue to keep below th h gh water mark on wood ai well as everything else.
