Campbell, Manager and Proprietor of the West End Grocery, has become one of Kings Mountain's most popular business men since coming to the chy as [manager cf the local A & P. store four years ago. A native of Catawba county, born near Newton, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Campbell, Mr. Campbell entered the grocery business twenty nine years ago with the old L<owe Grocery Company in Gastcnta. Today he owns his business he started two years ago to give to people in the West End section of Kings Moun tain a nearby "village store," modern in every sense. In 1909. he married Miss Florence Cllno. who also lived In Catawba county near Newton. There are four children, Banks, of Gastonia; Troy of Kings Mountain; and Misses Irene and Dolly Campbell, of Kings Mountain. Mr. Campbell Is a member of the First Baptist church, and is president of the Men's Bible Class of the Baptist 8unday School. He was edu cated at the now non-existent South Fork Institute, which waa located near Newton. He ia a Mason and a member of Knights of Pythias. "Hobbies? Sure, I like to hunt, flsh and nothing better than a good baseball c?me." Lest year Mr. Campbell waa one of the most rabid of Kngs Mountain's American Legion baseball team which made a good showing before being eliminated in the pre-sertea competition run-off. The West End Grocery carries a most complete line of everything good to eat. including fresh produce; meats, and groceries.
