O. Plonk hud charge of an inspiration a 1 aiid interesting program ott "Wqnien Of the llible," Harrill, J. ij. Anthony and L. P. Baker assisting. A group of poems were given by Mrs. Manly Morehead and u piano selection ty Krnest Mauney, concluded the program. A salad course with accessories and a sweet course was served. MEETINGS OF GLEANERS CLASS On last Saturday afternoon Mrs. Karl Tate and Mrs. M. C. Varboro were hostesses to members of the Gleaners Class of the First Baptist Church entertaining at the borne of the former. The rooms were attractively arranged with decorations c\. roses and sweet peas. The president, Mrs. Elmer Logan, conducted the business session. Interesting games and contest* were led by Mrs. Erman Martin. Ice cream, individual cakes and punch was served. Those present included Mesdames Mainly Morehead. Harold Crawford. Alviii. Yarboro. John McGill and Mies Elizabeth Anthony attended the District Meeting of the First Pre&byterial of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church at Sandy Plains Church, ILillcrest, in Polk County. Tuesday. Mrs. Baird was in charge of the devotional service and Mr*. McOill Educational Secretary of the First Preabyterial also had an important place on the program. ATTEND PARTY IN GASTON IA Mesdames D. C. Mauney, C. E. Nelsler and W. S. Dilllng were invited as honor guests at a most delightful meeting of the Rook Club of Oastonia on last Thursday with Mrs. O. W. Reaean as hostess. Tho guests enjoyed an old fashioned picnic spread on the lawn of the Reagan house. Rook was played InNors at five tables. The house was decorated with lovely pink peonies and other spring flowers.
