He was n graduate of Lincoln Academy. He worked in the Oneton eoaaty school system for over 40 years, belug retired about 2 years ago. For 111 years he was pastor of the First Baptist church of Dallas. At the time of his death he was pastor of Springfield Baptist church, Stanley, and the Kbeneser Baptist church / Kings Mountain. He ia survived by four daughters, one son who is in the U. 8. Army tn France, three grandchildren, six brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:80 at the First Baptist church in Dallas, with the Bev. W. H. Davidson of Charlotte giving the eulogy. A successful revival was held at the Mt. Zion Baptist church last week with the Rev. Lindsay of Lowell conducting. Pvt. Boydie Logan of Camp Lee, Va., spent the week end at home visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walker Logan of the Ebenezer com- jj munity, also their daughter, Miss ^ Lalio Logan of Philadelphia is' spen- . ding this week with them. Funeral services were held for Mrs. Maude Foster at Wilson street vl Presbyterian church, Shelby, last ~ Wednesday, August 1. Mrs. Foster had lived in Shelby a number of c years. She had taoght for 20 years j in the primary department of Cleve-1 0 land high school, Shelby. She retired * about two years ago. t She is survived by her husband, 1 the Rev. A. W. Foster, three sons, two of whieh are serving in the U. 8. Army overseas, and one brother.
