Miss Evelyn Davidson, a student in music at Howard University, was a -visitor of tier sister, Miss M. W. Davidson on Tracy street Monday and Tuesday. Miss M. K. Costner, a teacher in Spindale and Miss Geneva Costner, teaeher in Union Mills, school, were visitors of Bev. and Mrs. D. A. Costner, Sunday night and Monday. The Misses Costner'a are Bev| Costner'a sister*. Miss Annie Lb Byers of Watterson street, spent the week end with Miss Fnby Collins in Gastonla. Mrs. Mapple Owens was called to Greenville, 8. C., week before Christ[ mas on account of the' death of her mother, Mrs. Mattie Carter. The funeral was held in Gaffney, Dec. 19. Mr. 8. J. Owens of Washington, U.
