Mr. and Mrs. Sam B. Suber left Wednesday morning to attend a sals* men's convention at McNeel Memorial' Co. in Marietta, Ga. They will leave there on Saturday to go to Palm Harbor, Fla., where they will spend two weeks. J. W. Gladden Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gladden, has complet ed a course at the navy's* rafiar school at San Diego, Calif., and is bo ing transferred to Norfolk, Va., according to information received by bia parents. He is expected to arrive in Kings Mountain Sunday for a 5day leave before reporting to Norfolk. The Woman'a Club of Plienlx Mill No. 2 met at their club house last Friday evening with a large attenaa nee, also two new memoerS. They, had a soap rise package sale to raise money for the club. It was a big success. Mrs. Mack Connor and Mia. Emmett Shivers were hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lisdandro and sons of Baltimore, Md., are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Oaffney. Mrs Liseiandro is the former Beatrice Oaffney. Curtis Oaffney Is also home following an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps after four years of service, 84 months of which he q>end overseas.
