Thomas, who became executive assistant super- | intendent of the Test Farms Divis * ion, and J. M. Carr, who became assistant director in charge of the Tobacco Branch Experiment Station at Oxford. Thomas, 35 year old native of Rockingham county, took over a \ newly - created post to work with Fred E. Miller, superintendent of the Test Farms Division, in managing the nine test farms operated by the department. He was educated ? at Leaksville high school, N. C. State College and Virginia Tech.
