Barnes, superintendent of schools. The drive in Cleveland County seeks 60,000 books and magazines to be distributed in Europe. Purpose is to combat propaganda against the United States by showing the people of Europe, first-hand, what America thinks and does, through books. School children are being asked to bring books to the schools, where they will be packed for shipment to Europe. Outlining books and magazines especially desirable, Mr. Barnes listed the following: picture books for young ages; readers and story books all grades; histories and social science; literature for all ages; art and music books, cUastcs; general science, algebra, geometry, encyclopedias, dictionaries; good magazines, not mutilated; late college textbooks. Listed as "not wanted" were the following: newspapers; light or senisatlonal fiction; sensation - magaIzines; purely wartime material; religious and political texts; outdated science books; foreign language j books, shorthand and high science. !
