Breeding Animals
Wanted For Veterans

ion of the North Carolina Depart-)
ment of Agriculture has developed !
a statewide program with vocational j
schools for the purpose of locating
and, purchasing good breeding animate
for war veterans who will com
plete their training in agriculture
this year and begin farming on
their own.
Preliminary survey of veterans' j
requirements, according to Robert
S. Curtis, livestock marketing specialist
indicates a need for 1,900
breeding animals ? baef and dairy
ca?Jg, pvltw *ud sheep. Mr. Curdsis
now trying to locate a sufficient
number of satisfactory animal* to
megt^hfcneed.
Tfte, program will get under way
about March 1, Curtis said. He ad-,
vised veterans wantlns additional
information to contact the Vocational
School of Agriculture, N. C State
College, Raleigh, or the Division of
Markets, North Carolina Department
at Agriculture, Raleigh.

of Solway Firth, near the fishing
hamlet of Arbigland, John Paul,
known in history as John PaulJones,
was born July 6, 1747. When
he was 12 years old, his school days

was in Arbigland to recruit sailors, j

vessel about to sail to America.
