Other gifts were brought for the bowman Home. White Rock, S. C., The Children's Home, Salem, Va., and the Southern Seminary, Columbia, S. C. ' '-S Phenix Employees Enjoy Yule Party A Christmas party for the children of the employees of Phenix Plant, Unit of Burlington Mills Corporation, was held In the packing" room of the mill Sunday, Dec. 19, at1 2:30 p. m. Then Santa Ciaus arrived and presented treats of "toys, nuts, and fruits to over 400 children under 11 years ot age. Methodist Youth Have Christmas Party Sunday evening at 6;30 the Methodist Youth Fellowship of Centra! Methodist church met at tin .church. Tile Senior group met in the chape*, for a candle-lite worship'service yn "Friendship", led hy Jackie Wilson, assisted by Jack Matthew* and Patricia Prince, with a Ujany by the entire group. The Intermediate group met in the Junior classroom for a program, "if .He had -Not ComOj" in which the following young people look part: Gail Allen Duke Campbell, Joyce . BisCr. and Buddy Mayes. A candje with pine at the.base was their worship center, Tubsday night both groups were to go caroling under the direction of Mrs. E. C. Brandon, Jr.,.and B. S reeier, Jr. Following the caroling, refreshments were to be served to the Senior group at ihe home of Wal ter Griffin, and the intermediate group at the home of Annie Moblev Dilling. Next Sunday evening at 6:30 both groups will meet for a Christmas par ty, with "One World" at the theme. A light supper consisting of foods representing foods of different countries will be served by Circle No. 4 W. S. C. S. Placard saying "Merry Christmas" in different languages, printed by Patricia Prince, will be the decorations. Miss Prince will'also direct gantes of different countries. A program will be presented by Jack Matthews, assisted by Walter Griffin, Bobby Goforth, and others. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jackson will spend Christmas in Charlotte with Mrs. Jackson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ashcraft. Mrs. George Mauney has returned from Charlotte hospital where she has been a patient for several days. Mr, and Mrs. Ernest Mauney, Mr. Miles Mauney of New York City are spending the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W K. Mauney. ?o ?- , Miss .Dolores Davidson, daughter of, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Davidson, is improving satisfactorily at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, after her recent operation. Mr. Glenn Payseur is confined in Memorial hospital as a result of an accident Saturday morning, when he suffered a severe cut on his left leg while cutting up a tree with an etrectric saw, at his home. !
