tifully impressive service, marking
Charter Night and installation of

After the invocation given by Mrs. I
George Patterson, Jack Ruth, last'
president of the Yoirtti Center, pre- j
sen ted to the club a bronze plaque
in memory of Mrs. E. A. Shenk, who 1
. had been ?tf\e first youth adviser in j
their organized activities. A prolo- i
gue, 1905 1949, was then read by I
Mrs. Aubrey Mauney. Mrs. H. T. j
Fulton called the roll of Charter [
members of the first Civic League !
, (later the Woman's Club) and the
list, artistically inscribed and frahi- 1
ed by Mrs. Otto Hehn, was present- <
1 ed to the charfer members and ac
cepted by Mrs. C. E. Neisler. Three
past presidents in the group were
Mrj. D. C. Mauney. Mrs. C. E. Neis- j
ler, and Mrs. A. H. Patterson. Mrs.
E. W. Griffin then explained that the j
silver offering brought this night by
club members would go toward the
state headquarters building fund as
a gift honoring local Charter mem
bers.
After a processional of officers
elect, followed by the installation
service was held. As part of this
ceremony, each charter member's
taper was lighted from the great
candle, and as the list of deceased
members was read by Mrs. Neisler,
Mrs, D. C. Mauney lighted a candle |
for each. The district president in
stalled the officers, ami each signi
fied her readiness to serve by light
ing her taper from the Federation
candle. New officers for 1949-51 are:

receive a light from the Federation
taper, the entire club foined In the
singing of the Clubwoman's hymn.
Then through an aisle made by of-,
fleers and clubwomen, the Charter
members led the procession In to
the lounge for refreshments.
Mrs. Luther Cansier wrote and di
rected the exceptionally beautiful
service. Receiving the door of the
auditorium wfcre. Mrs. Vernon Cros
by and Mrs. W. B. Thomson. The l*t.

grams. while Mrs. Crosby presided

members signed the register, dainti
; ly bound and d^wated with sprays
of pine cones. Mrs. H. T. Fulton
headed the committee for the diffi
cult task of securing an accurate list
of the Charter members. Those char

Woman's Club, Mrs. Craig FaLUj,
president; Mrs. Sam Hamrick, vice
president; Mrs. J. B. Fal-ls, recording
secretary; and Mrs. Holland Dixon,

Mrs. Coman Fails presented the
pupils of her dancing classes in .V
program for the JO's and a number
of friends Tuesday night at the Wo
man's ciuO.
First on the program was a solo
by Sonny Peeler accompanied by
Mrs. Virginia Rosenthal.
A dance, "Tell "Me, LHtle Gypsy,"
was given by- Mary Lillian Lewis,
Patty Howard, 'Ercelle Stalling*,
| Charline Thomasson, NOrma Farr,
Diana Days, Marliene Weir, Dot Ann
| Limerick and Peggy Ware.
Marliene Weir sang, "Lavender
Blue," the same group danced. Taj.
dance, "Linda" Becky Thornb'irg,
Ruth McCurdy, Ann Falls and Rita
Hamrick.
Ann Falls and Becky Thornburg
did a Tambourwine, dance. Several
i solo dances, acrobatic stunts, march.

In the lounge Mrs. Y. F, Throneburg
and Mrs S. M. Brown presided over
a beautifully appointed table, from
which punch and cookies were serv
ed. Other hostesses were Mrs. W. T.
Weir, Kirs. J. K. Willis, and Miss
Carlyle Ware. Mrs. Fred Hamrick of
Rutherfordtoxj, Dlstrtiot Secretary,
was also present.
