Miss Lindsay Reveals Plans For Wedding Plans have been completed fori the marriage of Miss Kathri?e i Louise Lindsay, daughter of Mr. and ' Mrs. C. L. .Lindsay and Pau], Ed ward Early, .son of Mr. and Mrs. William Grayson Early, The wedding will take place Sat urday afternoon, November 12; a* 8 o'clock at the First Baptist church. Rev. L. ?. Pinnix, pastor of the chur ch, will officiate. A program of wedding music will j be presented by Mrs. J. C. Bridges, organist, and Miss Evelyn Cline, j soloist. The bride'9 father, C. L. Lindsay, will give her in marriage;. Miss Frances Lindsay, sister of the bride, will be maid of honor. Misses Jean Cash, Sybil Blalock, and Evelyn Ro berts will serve as bridesmaids. Miss Lavonne Lindsay, sister of the bride, will be Junior bridesmaid. The bridegroom-elect will have bis brother, Gene Early, as best ; man. Ushers will include Bill Green j and William Mullinax, uncles of the i bride, Bill Bolln, brother-in-law of i the groom, and J. T. McGlnnis. . Mrs. William Mullinax and Mrs. 1 Bill Green, aunts of the bride, will preside over the register. Mesdames Dilling Circle Hostess Circle No. 5 of Central Methodist church met Monday night at the home of Mrs. Percy Dilling with Mrs. Charles Diling as associate hos tess. Mrs. Mack Gantt led the de votional period, after which Mrs. j Ralph Mauney told of "Mustard Seed People; Of Faith". Mrs. A. H. Patterson gave an article on India's Untouchables Demand Reform. Sunday School Teacher Cbmplimented Mrs. Charles Warlick was hostess to members of the Daughters of, Wesley Bible class of Central Me- i thoUist church at her home on Gas- i ton street Wednesday night, the par- 1 ty planned as a special compliment to the faithful and efficient teacher j of the class, Mrs. W. R. Craig. The living room and den, where I the guests were seated were arrang* I ed with fall flowers and greenery. Mrs. C. L. Jolly presided over a short 'business session, during which Mrs. Y. F. Throneburg gave a report on the work of renovating and re decorating {he class room, recently completed. Mrs. Craig was presented a hand* some pair of bras andirons as a token of love and apreclation from class members and' although taken! by surprise, she made a very graci ous acceptance speech. The guests were Invited to the dining room for refreshments. Th? j buffet had an arrangement of fruits and vegetables falling from a half! of a huge pumpkin with a back ground of greenery. The dining table, spread with a lace cover was appointed with soft green lighted tapers In crystal hold'- 1 ers. twined with asparagus fern j and at one end of the table was pla- j ced a silver tea service from which tea was served by Mrs. A. H, Patter- j son. Guests helped themselves to an ' assortment of fancy sandwiches, salted nuts, stuffed dates and deco rated cookies. Around twenty four members of the class were present. Invited guests included Mrs. J. H. Brendall and Mrs. Williamson. Miss Lindsay Honored With Shower An air of festivity prevailed throu ghout the home of Mrs. Charlie Bla lock on Monday night when Mrs.j Blalock and two of her daughters Mrs. Donald Crawford and Miss Sy bil Blalock, entertained as a pre wedding courtesy to Miss Louise Lindsay, a bride of the week. The bridal motif of gfeen andi white was carried out in the deco- j rations and refreshments. White carnations were used in the living room. A very unique arrangement] centered the mantle with lighted candles on either end entwined with plumosus fern. On her arrival the hostesses pre sented the honoree with a white fea thered carnation corsage. Several bridal games Were played ;| with the winners presenting their,) prizes to the honoree. The doorbell rang, Miss Lindsay was asked to go to the door, there she found a large package. On en tering and opening It, she was showered with many lovely gifts 01 lingerie by the guests present. A dessert course was served by the | hostess. Individual miniature um brellas were given as favors. Mrs. R. D. Goforth Circle Hostess Circle No. 1 of the Presbyterian church met Monday night at the home of Mrs. R. D. Goforth. Four teen member were p?esent. Mrs. Charles Murphy presented the devo tional and Mrs. Evans pave the pro gram. v; | Two visitors were present, Mr#. P. I D. Patrick and Miss Josephine C?lp. Light refreshments were served during the social hour. Mrs. D. M Peeler Fetes Garden Club The lovely new home of Mrs. Drace Peeler was the scene of the November meeting of the Kings Mountain Garden Club. Arrange ments In the home featured chry santhemums and dried flowers The program subject was The Thanksgiving of our Pilgrim Fath- ' ers and the Thanksgiving of To day." A delightful discussion was' led by Mrs. Dan Finger who gave' an interesting sketch on the histor- i leal meaning, and the modern In- j terprecation of Thanksgiving. Mrs. W. L. Pre&sly presented a , turkey fashioned from an apple and used the letters In the work Turkey' as the lnsphatlon for an original rhyme. ; Tdo beautiful fruit arrangements were brought by members of teams 1 and 2. One arrangement was of all yellow fruit combined with day lilies and yellow folllage. The other arrangement was of mixed fruits combining mixed fruits with au- I tumn leaves.. Several specimens ofi berries were also displayed. . I Mrs. George H. Mauney gave a report on the "District Meeting held in Statesvllle. Plans for the Christmas Pilgrim age to be sponsored by the club were discussed. Several members of the club have consented to open their homes to the public on December 21 to display Christmas decorations and spread a bit of Christmas cheer. -This is a civic project, fhe first of its H?Kd to be sponsored by the Kings Mountain Garden Club. There will be an admission, for the homes, this admission to be used by the club for additional club projerts. Committees were appointed to work out details for the Christmas Pilgrimage and club members wish the public to share in Christmas hos pitality. The homes to be open and the hours will be announced later. Junior Woman's Club Met Monday Night The regular meeting of the Ju nior Woman's Cltfb was held Mon day night in the club house with Misses Grace Davis, Irene Alien and Helen Ramsey as hostess. Special guest at the meeting was Mrs. Aubrey Mauhey, Senior CJub sponsor. During tHe business meeting the committee in charge of selling Hol lands Magazine reported also a re port from the committee on selling candy af the 'Floral Fair. The club voted to give ten dol lars /or the North Carolina Junior project in Greensboro and to assist Mrs. M. A. Ware 1* chairman ol the committee on arrangements, assist ed by Mrs Joe Neisler and Mrs. J. L, McGill. At the conclusion of the meeting Mrs:. Mrs. Gidney Soloist j At Tuesday Concert : Mrs. JWbert Gidney, soprano, of Shelby, wi)l be guest soloist at a concent at Central nigh school in Bessemer City Tuesday night at 8 o'elock. . . 1 The announcement was made by Mrs. Dwight Matthews. ? Story Hour Friday 4-5 P.M. f The second in a series of Story Hours, sponsored by the Girl Scout "Pieces For Peace" Was j& Big Success 'Friday night at the Lutheran church the Dedication service for "Pieces for Peace" was held. Mrs. P. D. Patrick was fn charge of the worship service. A panel dis cussion on "Peace is Possible" was led by Mrs. Aubrey Mauney assist ed by Mrs. Paul Mauney, Mrs. J. H. Arihur, Mrs. E. W. Heal, Mrs. Billie Logan, Mrs. Harold Crawford, Mis. H. C. Mayes and Mrs. 'J. E. Mauney. B. S. Peeler, Jr., sang a solo . Refreshments were served during the social hour prior to the meeting. organization, will be held in the Mauney Memorial Library Friday, Nevemoer irom 4-5 o'clock.
