Girl Scoui Troop 23 of Davidson
High school enjoyed highly the cele
bration of Girl Scout Week which
was observed last week. They espec
ially enjoyed their broadcast ng ov
er Station WGNC in Gastonia and
attending the different church ser
vices in a group. Other enjoyable
activities continued throughout the
week.
We are very grateful to our par
ents for their cooperation in help
ing us get 12 of our Scouts in uni
form. A Brownie Troop has been or
ganized and will be under the direc
tion of Mrs. Gibson as Leader and
Mrs. Winston as assistant Leader.
All parents are asked to to help and
encourage our smaller girls from
ages 7-10 to become Brownie Scouts.

for our High School girls is under- !
way. This Troop will headed by;
Miss M. L. Pope and Miss M. V. Jam- j
es. Mrs. Cansler and her faithful co
workers will assist with this organ
ization as they have done hereto
fore. We are very grateful to them
for their interest and cooperation.
Mr. and Mrs. Taft Clark were in
Wiriston-Salem Sunday. They at
tended the Sunday morning service
of the annual conference of the Me
thodist church which convened at
St. Howe Methodist church last week

spent last week end visiting his sis
ter, Mrs. Henrietta Carter on East
Ridge street.
