Patty Huffstetler's Birthday Noted > Patty HuPffftetler celebrated her seventh birthday with a lovely bir thday party given her by her par ent*, Mr. and Mrs. Artdy Huflstetler at their hoihe on Piedmont avenue Thursday, Nov. 10th. After games were enjoyed hy the fifteen guests present- they sang "Happy Birthday" to Patty and pre sented her with many beautiful gifts. Delicious refreshments were serv. ed around a beautiful birthday cake decorated with pink rosea. Each guest was remembered with a favor. After a pleasant evening of rook the hostess awarded Mists Jett Plonk high score prize and Mrs. J. R. Da vis, consolation prize. Social Event Saturday At The Woman's Club Mrs. M. L. Plonk delightfully en tertained members of the Social Club and a number of invited guests at her home on West King street Friday afternoon. At the completion of the aftemdon games, tables wore laid with ma derla covers and the hostess was assisted in serving a salad and sweet course with coffee." Cooper was made festive with arrangements of chrysanthemums when she enter tained the Ace of Cluhs and guests at her home Thursday afternoon. Brfdge was played progressively when tallies were compared, Mrs. L. E. A'bbott held high score for the afternoon with Mrs. Carl Mauney holding second 'high. Mrs. L. E. Abbott and Mrs. H. S. New Comities Added For Crop Insurance. 'Beaufort, Caswell, Duplin, Forsyth^ ahd Jones counties have been selee- i ted for tobacco crop insurance in 1930, according to Julian E. Mann, SState director of the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation. These coun ties were selecr-?d on the basis of signed requests by interested tobac-. cO producers in those counties from a total of eight counties, actively seeking the insurance for next year.1 Rutherford county has been selec ted as a new cotton county in 1950. In 1,949 thefe were ten counties with all-risk crop insurance In Nor th Carolina, and thees are being continued in 1950. They are Colum- , bus, Pitt, Stokes, Surry, Vance, Wake and Wilson counties with tobacco insurance; Cleveland and Mecklen burg with cotton insurance; and Perj quimans with "multiple" crop in sura nee. The Eighty-First Congress permit. 1 ted a fifty percent increase in the number of counties over those with insurance in 1949 on a nation wide basis. The Aci also permits insur ance on tobacco while in the curing barnsa and packhouses, covering fire and other unavoidable causes beginning with 1950 policies.
