Mrs. Clay Poston To Be Circle Hostess Circle No. 3, Central Methodist I church, will meet Tuesday night, : December 6, at 7.30 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Clay Poston. As the meeting is to be held in the Kinder garten classroom, the members of this circle are to dress as "kids" for the occasion. Each member is to bring a toy for same needy, child, also staple groceries to be given some needy family at Christmas, to this December meeting. A Christmas program win be presented at this meeting by the Brownie Girl Scouts. Tonnie Ware's Third Birthday Noted Highlighting the activities for the small children this week was the party given Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. Howard Ware in honor of her small son, Tonnie, who was cel ebrating his thkd birthday. Twenty children were present and helped make this an event for Ton j nie to remember. A large cake with candles was in the center of the table, this was cut and served with ice cream. The honor of opening all the gift? was quite a treat and thrill for him. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hambright of Shelby are spending several days with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Goforth. Mrs. H. L. Campbell has returned to her home here after spending two months in Florence, S. C., due to the illness and death of her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Finger of New York are visiting Mrs. F; E. Finger and other relatives for several days. Mrs. Elnora Bargar, and Miss Mae Bargar oi Mayville, N. Y., were guests of Mrs. E. W. Griffin last week. They were enroute to Orlan do, Fla. Mrs. L. E. Abbott returned Wed nesday from Sumpter, S. C. She was called home a week ago when her father, Mr. C. E. Owens, suffered a heart attack. Mrs. Amos Dean, who has been at the bedside-of her mother in the Rex hospital in Raleigh, expects to re turn Sunday for a few days. Among Kings Mountain people attending the Lenoir- Rhyne-Cataw ba football game at Hickory Thanks giving Day were Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Black and Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Mltchem. Mrs. Clarence Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Dixon, and daughter, Jackie, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dixon, Jr., and son Mike, visked Mr. and Mrs. Lee Boggs in Statesviile over the week end. Word from Mrs. E. L. Campbell is encouraging. She is resting as well as could <be expected but will be in the hospital for sometime as her hip was broken in the fall. Mrs. Patrick read us a very good story about an Jndian brave ar?d then led in prayer. Then each Scout was invest ed and presented with the official Brownie pin. Polly Page and Ann Falls received their two year pins, and Martha Houser, a one year pin.
