seven frames for the winners and
gave up two hits. Jim Kimmell,
second baseman, and Ken Dalton,
first baseman, got to Harkey's
slants for the blows and Kim
mell added a double off Right
hander Max Saunders, who finish
ed the game, to lead the Moun
taineer stick -work with 2 for 4.
Catcher Gates had a perfect day
at the plate for Lincolnton, four
hits in four trips, Including a
jome run and two doubles.
Carl Moss, Kings Mountain
righthander, went the route and
gave up only seven hits.
The game was played in last

The loss was Kings Mountain's

The ro-kfish hatchery u Wei

to hatch rock fish eggs as soon as
as the fish themselves cooperate
by running up the Roanoke River.
According to an announcement
by the Department of Conserva
tion and Development and the!
Wildlife Resources Commission,
the hatchery will be operated I
jointly by the two departments
with assistance from the U. S.
| Fish and Wildlife Service.
: Plans call for 24 hour dally op
eration of the hatchery on three
eight hour shifts Eggs will b?
furnished by fishermen who
bring in ^pawners to be stripped
of egg and mill. Fishermen will
be paid for the eggs at the rate
of $10 per miljion. The hatchery
it.self is owned by the City of
Weldon.
The total number of rockfish
eggs hatched this year wlH de
pend upon the number of ma-.l
ture female fish caught, and co
operation from fishermen in
bringing these fish in to the hat
chery for stripping.
