and cookies, potato chips were
served by the hostess.
There will be a quartette sing
ing Sunday, May 14, at the Dixie
Theatre at 2 p. m. Doors open at
1:30. Everyone is cordially invited

ulty and pupils of the Davidson
high school are more than grate

donating the school a large First
Aid kit with all the essetnial e
quipment. We needed the kit and
shall make the best use of it.

friends who came out and helped
with the plays presented list
Friday to be successful. They
truly hope that Jbu enjoyed the
plays. Friday night of this week,
May 12 at 7:30 p. m.t another of
our good plays will be given for
your enjoyment. The play "Have
you seen Red?" in two.aots will
be presented by Mrs. P. Wig
gins and her pupils. The play is
one that you should not miss.
Come out and let u^enjoy the
play together.
We at Davidson are proud of
Miss Alice Mae Haywood. She
has won the $100 scholarship to
the Winston-Salem Teachers Col
lege for the next school year and
for the following three years if
her records continue to be good.
She had the highest average of
any high school graduate recom
mended for scholarships. Miss
Haywood was recommended ' by
three Teachers College graduates
now at Davidson : Mrs. K. W. Win
ston, Mrs. I. Gibson and Miss B.
Jackson. We hope to have other
interested boy and girls to rec
ommend before the year is over.

We are convinced that the Dav
idson School Parent ? Teacher
Association is getting to be one of
the most active Associations in
the County. Out last regular meet
ing of the school year was belt*
in the school auditorium Tuesday
night past. There were mot* than
100 persons present. A program of
songs was rendered by five of
our Ministers of the city. They
were: Rev. Walters, Rev. Thorn bs,
Rev. Garvin, Rev. Hickman and
Rev. Harknesa. Everyone present
enjoyed the program very much.
There were interesting remarks
by Rev. Harkness, Rev. Walters,
Mr. Gibson and the president, Mr.
W. Brown. The parents madt a
contribution of 921 tto buy letters
for our basket-all stars who were
winners of the District, County,
and State runners-up trophies.
Some of our girls will get letters
also. Slides of the Davidson
School May Day Activities were
shown to the parents and ex
plained by Mrs. Winston and
Miss Jackson. They were in char
go of the activity.

T. A. for this year will be MM

en more parents at this meeting.
