Garden Club In State Organization At the State meeting held in Winston-Salem this week the Kipgs Mountain Garden Club was voted into the State organi- ! zation. Mrs. J. L. Pressly, president of . the local club, and Mrs. J. L. Mc Gill attended from here. Members of the club will put three flower arrangements each day next week in the Mauney Me-, morial library. One arrangement each day will be made especially for children. Miss Nan Jean Gantt ToBe Honored . Mr. and Mrs. William McKlnley Gantt are entertaining with a formal dance Saturday night at, the Woman's club honoring their daughter, Nan Jean. j Music will be furnished by Bob Trevarthan of Gastonia. Saturday ai 10 o'clock Brownie Troop 14 went to Camp Rotary for play day. Mr. Cox and Mrs. David Hamrick took us to Camp Rotary. First we played around and went to the swimming pool and .ft) the cabins. The bell rang and we. all got together in a circle. Each troop did something that they had learned in Brownies. After that we all ate lunch. Each troop ate together. When we finished 1 eating, we went back and got in j | a circle. We learned tricks with ! strings. We Heard a story. It Was j going on a lion's hunt. We all had a real nice time at Play Day at Camp Rotary. Guy Ann Henderson. Jean Cash won first place in the reading division, with "The Show Must Go On and On," Harold England took first in the decla-i mation division with "A Strang- j er Within Our Gates," and Pat ! Neisler won second place in the J non-droamatic poetry division. Other Kings Mountain entrant was Clarence McDaniel, in the original ort^Uon division.
