Editor Graduating Class Is Entertained The Cla of 1950 of Kings Mountain high school, the high school faculty and their families and the mascots and their par ents, In Tuesday, May 23, en joyed an afternoon of swimming boating and fishing at Lake Mon tonia, followed by a sumptuous picnic supper, as guests of the following parents of members of the class: Mr. and Mrs. D; II. Mrs. Ward Fetes Legion Auxiliary A profusion of summer flowers added a color note to the attrac tive home of Mrs. H. D. Ward on Thursday night when she enter tained the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. L. E. Abbott Entertains Club Mrs. L. E. Abbott entertained members of the Duplicate Club Monday afternoon at her home at Crescent Hills. In the living room and dining room the accent was placed on colorful bouquets of mixed spring blooms. The guests found their places at several tables arranged for the social event and duplicate bridge was played throughout the afternon. At the conclusion of the last progression, scores were tallied and prizes awarded Mrs. Amos Dean and Mrs. George Houser. Mrs. Abbott was assisted in serving a sa'.id course with tea, to club members and the follow ing additional guests, Mrs. Amos Dean, Mrs. Haywood Lynch, and Mra. Arnold Kiser. The S. R. Subers Couples Club Hosts Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Suber were hosts at a dessert bridge Friday night when their guests included members of the Couples Club. Airy flower arrangements add ed a festive air to the . party. Bridge was played progressively with Mrs. Dan Finger and Draco Peeler carrying off high honors. Miss Nan Jean Gantt Honored With Dance Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Gantt were hosts at a formal dance at the Woman's Club house Saturday night, May 12th; entertaining in honbr of their daughter, Nan Jean. The club foyer and lounge were decorated in a variety of garden I flowers featuring roses, snapdra gons and white petunias and sweet peas. Refreshments [ were served throughout the ev , ening. ' The ball room was gay with multicolored balloons and gar lands of crepe paper. Music was furnished by Bob Trevarthan and his orchestra. Miss Gantt was radiant in a white net cress over taffeta and a corsage of orchids. More than a hundred and twenty five young people enjoyed the happy occasion with Miss | Gantt. Mrs* EdHord Circle Hostess The Frances Hord circle of the First Baptist church met with Mrs. Ed Hord test Wednesday af ternoon. Their were 13 members present. Mrs. C. D. Ware, leader, presid ed over the meeting. Mrs. Jake Hord conducted the devotional. Those taking part on the pro gram were Mesdames Doris Lit tlejohn, Arthur Allen and Mts. C. B. Hovis.
