Editor Phone 167 Twin-Table Club Met In Hambright Home Mrs. Claud Hambright was a delightful hostess on Tuesday night when her guests included members of the TWin Table Brid ge club and one additional guest, Mrs. L. P. Stowe. The living room was prettily decorated with mixed summer flowers. A special beauty spot Jn the room was an arrangement of deep red roses. Mrs. Hambright's prizes went to Mrs. O. W. Myers who scored highest, Mja. L. P. Stowe, second hjgh, and the consolation prize to Mrs. P. D. Herndon. After the progressions the hos tess assisted by her daughter, Jane, and Mrs. L. P. Baker was responsi ble for the program for the ev ening, presented Mrs. W. .E. Blakely who told In a very in* teresting and charming manner of the drama, "Unto These Hills" which is being given at the Cher okee Indian reservation. Miss Peggy Hammond sang, "Indian Summer" and "Indian Love Call" accompanied by Miss Bonnie Mcintosh. Mrs. Paul Hendricks told of the Legend of Lake Wacamaw, During the business Mrs. Mil ton Fryer was welcomed as a new member. The hostess assisted by Mrs. J. B. Keeter, Mro. H. T. Fulton, Jr., and Mrs. D. F. Hord served lime sherbet and homemaide cocoa nut cake. invited guests Included Mrs. Keeter, Mrs. P. D. Patrick and Mrs. W. D. Baker. Old Fashioned Movie Friday Night 7:30 Come out to the Old Fashioned Movie party at Central Methodist church Friday night at 7:30 o' clock, to be put on by the Inter mediate Youth Fellowship to raise money. A free-will offer ing will be taken. Don't miss the special program, being planned under the direction of Peggy Hammond, Youth Direcor. Queen of Clubs Met With Peggy Arthur Miss Peggy Arthur entertained the Queen of Clubs bridge club and one additional guest, 'Mrs. Fred McDaniel, at her home Tue? day night. * The floral decorations were em phasized very beautifully In col orful bowls of mixed "urrnner flowers with glads predominat ing. The tables were appointed for refershments. Each held a miniature vase of flowers. Pecan pie with Ice cream was served. Mrs. Fred McDaniel was high scorer, Mrs. Bill Brymer runner up for second high, and Mrs. Da vid Nelll received the floating prize. The hostess presented Mrs. Bill Brymer, nee Miss Louann Hern don, with silver in her chosen pattern. Mrs. J. K. Willis Bridge Club Hostess Mrs. J. K. Willis entertained members of the Double Deck bridge club at her home Tuesday night. Numerous arangements of glads were used in the party rooms. Tables were appointed for refreshments, each centered with1 a small vase of flowers, and upon arrival of guests a delicious sa lad plate with accessories was served. When scores were tallied after the progressions it was revealed Mrs. W. M. Moorhead held high with Mrs. Wilson Crawford sec on high. Each were presented at tractive trophies. Mrs. H. S. Bkxckmer Bridge Club Hostess Members and guests of the Tuesday afternoon bridge club were entertained this week at the Country Club with Mrs. H. S. Biackmer, as hostess. The club was especially pret ty for the delightful occasion with beautiful floral arrange ments used throughout the down stairs rooms of glads and mixed Bummer flowers. At the conclusion of the pro gressions the following were pre sented prizes for the afternoon. Club high to Mrs. G. E. Still, sec ond high to Mrs. R. H. Webb, vis itors high to Mrs. M. A. Ware. A salad and sweet course was served when cards were laid a side. Cokes were served during the progressions. Mrs. M. A. Ware, Mrs. Carl Mauney and Mrs. Jacob Mauney were invited guests of the hos tess. Mrs. L. A. Hoke Bridge Hostess Mrs. L. A. Hoke entertained her bridge club at her home Tuesday afternon. Tables were placed for bridge oh the porch and were laid for refreshmnets when the mem bers arrived ginger ale, ice cream and cookies were served; Guests found their places and a pleasant aftternoon was spent playing bridge. Smith, circle. : chair man, opened" the meeting with prayer. Routine matters were dis posed of; it was decided to have a birthday fund to be used for flowers, Mrs. Hal Ward to be in charge. Mrs. P. D. Patrick gave the Bi ble lesson on David's prayere. Mrs. Frank Limerick gave an in teresting story on "Answered Prayer." A social period followed. The meeting was closed with prayer. Brownie Troop 33 met at the Methodist church. We elected new officers. President was Peggy Craig. Sec rear y was Charity Go forth. Mr. Black, one of the Brownie daddies, arranged for us to have watermelons which we enjoyed. We sang a few songs. Then we went home. Peggy Craig, Reporter.
