Hines The Calvary Baptist church at Rutherfordto'n was the scene of a lovely wedding Suftday, June 25, at 4 o'clock when Miss Ruby Put nam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Putnam of Rutherfordton, be came the bride of William R. Min ed, son of Mr. and Mm. Vernon E. Hipes of Spindale. Rev. Watson Abrams, pastor of the church, of ficiated, using the double ring ceremony. The vows were spoken before] an altar banked with Oregon j fern, southern greenery, and a sunbursts arrangement of white gladiolus. She carried a semi cascade bouquet of gardenia*. MLsses Judy Hord of Shelby and Chariene Hord of Forest City were flower girls. They wore white or gandy with green velvet sashes and head-dresses of greer. net and daisies. The ushers were Alvon H. Put nam of Raleigh, brother of the bride', Birch Callahan, Jr.. After receiving the guests in the vestibule of the church the couple left for a wedding trip. Returning, they will reside at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Hines is a nlecc of both Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Putnam, Mr. W. W. Putnam of Kings Moun tain and Mrs. L. G. Hord. formerly of Kings Mountain. Several Honored On Birthday Mrs. Van Bost entertained with a lovely dinner party last Sun day, served buffet style at her home on Williams Road, Maiden, N.
