The Kings Mountain Garden Club; held its first meeting of the fall at the home of Mrs. W. L. Pressly an Wednesday afternoon. A report was mad?i on the State meeting held in Blowing Rock in August. Attractive year books were pre sented each member. The year books use for covers lovely hand painted dogwood sprays with cardinals,, the state flower, and bird, done by Mrs. Howard Jack son. The club voted to hold an open meeting On Thursday, October 19, at which time a well known authority will be Invited to speak on Camellias. This meeting will be open to the public. School Preparing Exhibit For Fair The primary department "at Kings Mountain's Central school Is preparing an exhibit for the Cleveland County Fair under the direction of Miss Willie McGill, principal of the department. The exhibit will consist of paintings and other art work done by children of the first three school grades. The various schools in the Kings Mountain system alternate eagk^ar in prei^rlng fair ex school won first place last year at the Cleveland County Fair with its model of the high school building and a portrayal of the many activities of the school. Man Found Guilty Of Violating Law Ed Jackson of route 3, Kings Mountain, was found guilty of violating the Employment Se curity Law of North Carolina in trial before Justice of the Peace Lee Roberts Monday. T. L. Whitley, Claims Deputy of Gastonia, charged Jack9on with failing to report the fact that he was working when he filed a claim for ttnemployment com pensation benefits. The court continued prayer for judgment upon payment of the costs taking into consideration the fact that Jackson had previ ously returned the benefit check covering the fraudulent calm. Frank Hamrick Now At Reynolds Motors Frank Hamrick, who formerly operated a garage on City street, has been employed by Reynold's Motors as a mechanic according to announcement this week by Warren Reynolds, owner. Mr. Hamrick sold his garege to the City of Kings Mountain re cently.
