Future Vanity Prospects Meet [Again Friday By Hugh Tompkins Kings Mountain high school's "B" team and the Grammar Grade All Stars tangled at City Stadium on October 26 with the "Bees" coming out on top 7-0 in a hard-fought, well-played foot ball game. The two teams meet again Fri day night in another regular - length high school contest. Fullback Doug Falls eracked over from the four-yard line ear ly iti the first quarter for the only score of the game after Tackle Sammy McCarter had recovered an AH Star fumble on the B 29 yard line to set up the game-win ning tailey. Falls went through the line for the extra point. The touchdown drive went 71 yards with Falls contributing runs of 6, 7, 5, 6, 6,' 7, X, and 4. Tailback Dickie Webb made runs of 7, 3, 4. 1, I and 4, and Wing back Gene Patterson a run of 7 yards. The most outstanding player of the game was the All Star's Frank Phillips who made runs of 1, 23, 3, 7, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8 yards from the line of scrimmage. He also returned punts of 35, 7, 25, 4 ,and 27 yards. He threw one pass which b" completed for 17 ya rds Gerald Adams Sam McCarter, and Jim Caveny were outstand ing on defense. PLAY- BY-PLAY Right End Earl Maddox kick ed off to the B 15 and Webb re turned 7 yards to the 22. Webb went off tackle for 2. Webb lost 2 and Doug Falls added 6 to the B 28. D. Harrison was held to no gain on the first play and Marlowe passed complete to Left End j Dean Blackwell for a 7 yard gain. Phillips took a pityhout from Marlowe and scooted 23 yards to the B 40 before being caught from behind by Adams. Phillips made 3, and Queen was caught for a 1 yard losa?. Halfback Rich ard George' added 3 yards- off left tackle. On fourth down. Queen passed incomplete to Mad dox. Webb made 2 yards for the "Bees" as the first half ended. Score: B 7, AS 0. . Second Half McCarter kicked off to the AS 23 and Phillips grabbed the ball and ran it back to the AS 48. Phillips was stopped at the line of scrimmage and George made 4 off tackle. Phillips lost 3 on a reverse. Mar' owe went through the center of the B line for 8 yards and first down on the B 43 yard line. On the next play. Mar lowe fumbled and the B team recovered. On fourth down, the All Stars gambled and won when Phillips passed complete to Rich ard George for 17 yards and a first down on the B 32.
