Fred Plonk reported that he had talked with the bus compa nies several times over the possi bility of construction of a termi nal on the lot adjoining the Pu rol station on West King street, but that the companies would not agree to lease the station. They wished, he said, to have him lease it to some individual. Mr. Davis* letter to the Utilities commission, a copy of which was addressed to L. A. Love, manager of Queen City Bus Company, at [Charlotte, follows: "As attorney for the City of Kings Mountain and at the re quest of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners, I am writing to you with reference to a situation in Kings Mountain which should be called to your attention. "There is no bug station at all In Kings Mountain for the con venience of the travelfng public. During rainy- weather and espec ially during cold weather, wo J men, children and old people who I desire to ride the bus or who are put off in Kings Mountain have no waiting place or shelter from the cold or the rain. The bus sta tion at present is from one end of the corporate iimits to the other and it is necessary for any per son who desires to ride a bus to stand on the street corners or out in the street and attempt to flag the bus. It might stop and* it might not. This situation is very unsatisfactory for the people in Kings Mountain and it is also a themum's decorated the home.
