and had cokes to drink.

some of us and we all enjoyed

troop room. Jean Arthur called
the meeting to order. Fourteen
j members were present. The Scout
' laws and Promise were said. We
sang our Scout Hymn. We elected
new officers: They were: Martha
Baker. Lyvonne Lindsay, Derice
Weir; Joyce Dixon as patrol lead
er;; secretary. Butch llouser, and
Jubilee Low chairman, Kathryn
Ware. Plans were discussed and
made to raise money for our
Juliette Low Fund. Dr. D. Hord
spoke to us on "Teeth" in con
nection with out badge work,
"Good Grooming." We enjoyed
his talk very much. We discuss
ed Girl Scout Week and we were
asked to Uo something each day
and report next meeting. We plan
ned to sit in a body at church
next Sunday night. We then at
tended prayer service at 7:30 at
ourchurch. "

Davidson School News
The Davidson school Scouts
have enjoyed celebrating Girl
Scout Week very much. They at-,
tended Church School at the Good ,
Hope Presbyterian church Sun- ,
day where Mrs. Pearl Miller is
Superintendent. Then attended
morning services a.t the Baptist!
church -with Rev. Garvin and his
good congregation. Sunday the
5th we plan to attend Bynum's
Chapel for church school and the,
morning serv ices. The Scopts
seem to have enjoyed each day of
the week so far. They enjoyed ma
king the little things on display
at-the Griffin Drug Store this
week. The cakes were made by
the Senior Scouts with our beau- j
tiful leaves and cards made by .
our Brownie Scouts. The crafts
that were not used will be kept'

girls, worked harder than others
but we all enjoyed working in
the Intermediate troop.

ing held in Shelby last Monday

rol station on West King street,
but that the companies would
not agree to lease the station.
They wished, he said, to have
him lease it to some individual.
Mr. Davis* letter to the Utilities
commission, a copy of which was
addressed to L. A. Love, manager
of Queen City Bus Company, at
[Charlotte, follows:
"As attorney for the City of
Kings Mountain and at the re
quest of the Mayor and Board of
Commissioners, I am writing to
you with reference to a situation
in Kings Mountain which should
be called to your attention.
"There is no bug station at all
In Kings Mountain for the con
venience of the travelfng public.
During rainy- weather and espec
ially during cold weather, wo
J men, children and old people who
I desire to ride the bus or who are
put off in Kings Mountain have
no waiting place or shelter from
the cold or the rain. The bus sta
tion at present is from one end of
the corporate iimits to the other
and it is necessary for any per
son who desires to ride a bus to
stand on the street corners or out
in the street and attempt to flag
the bus. It might stop and* it
might not. This situation is very
unsatisfactory for the people in
Kings Mountain and it is also a

together with our city council met
in a mass meeting last night and
passed a resolution authorizing
that this matter be called to your
attention with the hope and ex
pectation that the Utilities Com
mission will compel the bus com
panies to erect a suitable bus
station. As I understand the law
the Utilities Commission has the
authority, if necessity requires it,
to compcl the bus companies to
provide the necessary facilities
for the convenience of the travel
ing public in the various towns.
