Mrs. Hal Plonk was hostess, Tuesday afternoon, her guests being members of the Contract Club with Mrs. Bill Fulton, Mrs. Jacob Mauney and Mrs. John Cheshire invited to play. Fruits, ivy and dish gardens were effective seasonal decora lions, and between progressions the hostess served a delicious salad course with coffee passing fudge for the dessert. Mrs. Tolly Shuford received high score prize with Mrs! Jay Patterson receiving second high. Fellowship Supper Sunday 5:30 P. M. At 5:30 P. M. Tables were arranged In the living room before an open fire which cast a merry glow over the room. Guests found their places at the tables which were appoin ted for refreshments. Ambrosia and fruit cake was served. Nuts were passed later in the evening. Tallies were compared after the third progression bridge win ners were Mrs. Jimmle Spivey and Mrs. B. F. Brymer. . Baptist Church held their mon- j thly meeting Monday night at the home of Mrs. J. A. Rolston with Mrs. Clyde, Jolly and Mrs. G. C. Whlsnant as co-hostesses. The meeting was opened with prayer by Mrs. J. B. Falls, re membering sick members of the congregation. One verse of "Work For the Night is Coming" Was sung by the group. Miss Mabel Logan presided over the buisi/tess, Mrs. J. B. Falls gave a report on the basket that was sent a needy family for Thanksgiving. It was voted to give a silver spoon to each baby instead Of silver dollars. Mrs. iChaVles Owen, Mrs. Frank Us sery and Mrs. Johnny Beam were appointed to beautify the class room, The December meeting will be held with Mrs. ' Howard Ware, , December 15, everyone is to bring J a can of food to put in the Christ mas basket. Mrs. Charles Owen wasx in charge of .the Fellowship hour after which delicious refresh ments were served, with a minia ture turkey on each plate, as a favor. Goforth was hostess Tuesday night when members of the Twin-Table bridge club met to p^ay. Mrs. J. H. Arthur held score atone table and Mrs.<:iaud Hambright high at the other ta ble. Each were presented with flowering begonias. . After two progressions Mrs. Goforth was assisted in serving a dessert course consisting of cherry pie, ic<? cream, and coffee. Blooming begonias and narcis sus enhanced the attractiveness of the Mving room, where guests assembled at tables arranged for bridge. Mrs. J. H. Arthur and Mrs. W. E. Chrysanthemums and potted plants added a festive atmos phere to the home, * Bridge was played progressive ly with Mrs. Clarence Smith of Shelby winning high score prize and Mrs. Vernon Crosby receiv ing low. Congealed salad, sandwiches cake and russian tea was served after the progressions. Mrs. Clyde Kerns Bridge Club Hostess Mrs.- W. M. Moorehead was in vited to play with members of the Entre-Nous bridge Club Tues day afternoon when they met at the home of Mrs. Clyde Kerns. , Very unique floral arrange ments were achieved with Afri can violets and potted plants. A dessert course was served between progressions. When tallies were compared at the close of the games high score prize was presented Mrs." O. O. Jackson with Mrs. W. M. Moor head receiving second high. The Harry Pages Dinner Bridge Hosts Mr. and Mrs. Harry Page En tertained members of the Clover Leaf bridge club, at their home Monday night. When guests arrived they iound their places at small ta bles. Prior to the bridge session a chicken pie dinner was served. Pleasing arrangements of red berries and African violets were .used throughout the home. Dr. and Mrs. W. L. Ramseiir and Mrs. H. R. Webb were special guests of the hosts. Playing prizes were presented Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Neisler for holding highest score at the con clusion of the games.
