H, Gibson was sent as delegate from the Davidson high school to the 70th Annual Con vention of the North Carolina Teachers held in Raleigh on the 15. 16, and 17 ot March. Mrs. Gibson stated that the Conven tion was a most enjoyable one. There were excellent addresses by some of our most outstanding Educators such as Dr. Mays. President of Morehouse College, Dr. Redding from Hampton In stitute, Dr. Gans, Teachers Col lege Columbia University, At torney, Thurgood Marshall, N. Y. C., and many others There were also very interesting dis cussion. We wish it could have been possible for others from Kings Mountain to have attended the meeting. ' ' . j The Davidson high school bas ketball teams made excellent showings at the tournament held in Clover last week. The girls lost their game played with Cl.over girls 22-26. Our boys almost dou bled their scores in the game played with Jefferson High and won the final game played with the boys from Compact. Our boys won the first place trophy and Compact high school boys were runner-ups. Both our elementary j and high school teams plan to| participate in the Cleveland CoUnty tournament that will be held in Shelby the week after Easter. We do hope that the teams will make good showings then. Members of the Davidson school family will get out for the Easter holidays on Thursday March 22. and return on March 27th.
