The Christian Brotherhood of Mt Zion Baptist church met at the 'home of Miss Odessa Shields with Mr. Sam Williams as host. We had a very nice meeting. The topic was "Pastors". After the meeting the hostess served fried chicken, potato salad, punch, and ice cream and cake. Presi dent: Rev. Leo Thombs; Pastor, Rev. R. L. Garvin. The young women's auxiliary of Mt. Zion Baptist church will meet at the church Wednesday night June 6 at 7:30 o'clock. President, Mrs. Alberta Thombs. We the captain of the North and South Carolina State rally of the Mt. Jackson were most pleased to know that so many people enjoy ed the operetta "Gypsy Trouba-; dour" presented last Friday in the school auditorium. Everyone present thought that the operetta was a very good one. The direc tors are grateful to each friend and parent who cooperated in helping the operetta to be such a successful one. Members of the Davidson School family will close their school year on Friday, June 1st at 3:30 p. m. The school year has been a ratHer enjoyable and suc cessful one. The din ner was one well prepared and very tasty. Funeral services for Rev. Ed ward Clinton Boyce was held Sunday at 2 p. m. at Mt. Zion Baptist church. He was a mem ber and former pastor of Mt. Cal- 1 vary Fire Baptist Holiness, Churoh. Rev. A. S. Smith, F. J.f Lee officiated. Mr. Boyce ha'i, been In declining health for many years. Mr. Jcpxtan died Sunday morning af ter a short illness. He was a- na tive of Madison, Ga. Pastor, Rev. M. C. Walton. Mrs. Corry Bell Adams, 41, of route two, died in Shelby hospi tal Wednesday morning at 10 o' clock after a two -day illness. She was a native of Cherokee Coun ty and had lived here for 19 years. She was a member of Eb enezer Baptist church, the Friendly Aid of Compact, and the Courts of Kings Mountain Ma sonic Lodge. Funeral services will be held, at HopeweH Baptist church, near Lockhart, S. C., Sunday at 2 p. m. Rev. S. I. Clemments will of ficiate ?nd -burial will be In the church cemetery. She i? survived by her hus band, Robert Adams; seven sis ters Mrs. Ada McCluney, Mrs. Pauline Brown, M?- Inez James, Mrs. Ruby Gwin and Miss Kath line McCluney, of Kings Moun tain, and Mrs. Bessie Foster and Mrs. Roble C.
