Fred Riser Posts Junior Win, 6-3 L Southpaw Fred Kiser spaced nine Rutherford County hits here on Thuruday, June 21st, and his Kings Mountain American Le gion junior baseball team mates bunched half of their eight bin gles for five runs in the seventh Inning to down the visitors 6 to 3. Kiser got in trouble In the first inning, giving up a pair of runs on four singles and a base on balls. The stylish lefty tight ened up and was in trouble a gain only in the sixth when he .^ave up a home* to the. lead-off man and loaded the -bases on two bingles and a fielders choice but left them stranded. Don Saine, cf, started the win-, ning rally when he was safe on an error -by the Rutherford first sacker. Kiser drew a pass and was forced at second on Third Baseman Hay Mauney's fielders choice. Jim Klmmell, 2b singled in Saine, Bob Wells, lb, singled in Mauney to tie the score and Carl (Boozie) Bellin ger, ss, singled in Kimrnell to put the Mountaineers ahead. A long" smash by Don Cobb, If, was errored by the visiting right fielder, Wells scoring on the play and Ken Spencer, c, smash ed out another bingle to send Delllnger home with the final tally. Kings Mountain <pushed a cross a run In the third when Ki ser and Mduney drew passes, an error 'by the shortstop allowed Klmmell to reach first loading the bases and, on a fielders choice that nipped Kiser at the dish, the catcher hit Bob Wells with the throw on an attempted double play to first base and Mauney romped home. Spencer had 2 for 3 and Klm mell 2 for 4 to lead the hitting. Bill Turner, rt, had 2 for 5 In cluding a homer, r?nd Norman Hardin, cf, and Jim Henson, 2b, each had 2 for 4 to pace the vis itors' attack. Southpaw Donald Turner gave up only 8 hits to the winners but didn't space them out Turner downed the locals 11 to 1 on a 3-hitter at Forest City on June 14.
