Urn. P. D. Hemdon, Editor Thursday Hostess Mrs. Amos Dean was hostess on Thursday afternoon to members of the Ace ol Clubs and several other friends whe club. The home was attractively decorated with Spring flowers and potted plants. After the games when scores were . compared, the hostess awarded playing prizes to Mrs, H. E. Lynch for club members. Visitor's high score prize went to Mrs. Hugh Ormond. A congealed salad and sweet! course was served after the cards were laid aside. Those playing other than mem bers were Mrs. Hugh Ormond, Mrs. Arnold kiser and Mrs. Hayne Blackmer. Mrs. Amos Dean ed at a regular r Models Participating - In Frills And Fashions \ Frills and Fashions with Mary Rice Is the theme lor the fashion show being presented by the Kings Mountain Country Club Tuesday night, March 18. The costumes will be displayed by twenty models, featuring fash Ions from teen-age to grandmoth ers. Reservations maybe obtained from Mrs. Don Blanton, Mrs. W. J. Fulkerson or Mrs. Hayne Blackmer. The public is cordially invited to attend the sjjow which starts at 7:30 p. m. The show will be held in the large dining hall at the club. Moore of Bel mont, Grand Electa Shirley Tuch er of Shelby, District Deputy Grand Matron Elaine W. Leon hardt of Shelby, and a number of worthy matrons and patrons from other chapters. A television broadcast program honoring our Worthy Grand Ma tron and Worthy Grand Patron was given. Gifts were presented the guests of honor. At the conclusion of the meet ing a social hour was enjoyed. Punch was served with cakcs dec orated with red hearts. Page-Elmoaa Vows Spoken Saturday Miss Addie Mae Page of Lin colnton and Fort Yukon, Alaska, and Allen E, Elomaa, of Switzer land, Florida were married Sat urday afternoon at five o'clock in historic St. Luke's Episcopal church with the rector Rev. Rich ard J. Lee offic.'ating. Only mem bers of the two families witness ed the taking of the vows. Mrs. Eiomaa is a sister of Har-.J ry, Jim and Rill Page of this city.] After completing her course at Emory University she was on the j staff of Memorial hospital in j Charlotte and the Hudson Stuck | Memorial hospital in Fort Yukon, Alaska. Mr. Elomaa is an electronic technician with the U. S. weather bureau. He was recently transfer red to Atlanta from Ft. Worth, Texas where he was stationed for five years. The couple will make their home at 1843 Valley Drive, Atlan ta. , Following the ceremony at the church Mr. anci Mrs. Rhyne Little of Lincolnton and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Page were hosts at an in formal reception at the Little home. Spring flowers were used in the home and Mrs. Miller and Polly and Jane Page, assisted with the hospitalities. McDaniel's Jr. Bridge Club Hosts The members of the King of Hearts Bridge club met Tuesday night with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mc Daniel, Jr. After four progressions of brid ge, tallies - were compared and high score prizes for the evening | were awarded Mr. and Mrs. Gene Timms. Mrs. Timms also received the high score prize for the month. Toasted sandwicnes and hot chocolate were served when cards were laid aside. Wednesday night at Scout meeting time. The meeting was started with the Scout Oath and Scout Laws led by the Scout master. This week the Scoutmas ter taught the boys a new game called the "Sleeping Indian." There v. -re 17 boys present and we had one visitor, Mr. Ormand. We then went to Patrol meeting. After Patrol meeting wc re -as sembled and our dues were tak en up and each boy reported his good deed of the week. Then our two Patrols held a contest to see which Patrol knew the 8 points of the Com pass best.
