Mrs. P. 0. Hsmdon, Editor Investiture Service .. Held By Brownies Brownie Troop No. 1 of Central Methodist church held their regu lar meeting Monday afternoon at their room In the church. New officers are selected every three months, In January the fol lowing were elected president, Phyllis Bumgardner, vice pres.; Judy Early, sect.; Doris Dixon ^ and treasurer, Mrs.* Holland \ Dixon. Topic for study in January was "How to Bet a Table", the correct way to place crystal, china and silver, the correct use of candles and center flower arrangements, where to seat the host and hos tess and' guests. Miss Jane Brockman of Gas tonla was present for one meeting ' teaching the Brownies how to prepare colors. Plans were made for an Investi ture Service to be held for three new Brownies and assistant lead er, Mrs. Jake Early. The World Pin ceremony was read by Mrs. Jake Early and the mothers of the new Brownies were given the honor of pinning these pins on their daughters. Light refreshments were serv ed after the ceremony. Another one of the activities was learning, How to be Prepar ed, how to send an SOS by flag, flash light, hand shake and whis tle. Plans are being made to attend Camp Rotary during the summer months. Also to sell the Girl Scout cookies to help support Camp Ro tary. F. H. A. Girls Attend Rally In Fallston Thirteen members of The Fu ture Homemakers Chapter with their leader, Mrs. William Page attended a Cleveland County Ral ly held in the high school in Falls ton Saturday/The theme of the F. H. A. meeting was better homes and family relations. W. R. Gary, principal of Falls ton school, greeted the F. H. A. girls with wishes for a good day. ? A splendid program had been arranged, the Kings Mountain Chapter gave an interesting em blem service. Lunch was served in the school cafeteria. Those attending from Kings Mountain were Carletty . McDaniel, Margie Tessener, Nell Ramsey, Lossle Lynch, Dolores Davidson, Bobbie Barrett, Elaine Goforth, Joyce Biser, Peggy Rlp py, Louise Patterson, Fern Bar rett, Nancy Rlshop and Cynthia Plott. Miscellaneous Shower Honoring Mrs. Bell Mrs. Gene Whetstjne and Mrs. George Lovelace, Jr., wore hos tesses Saturday night at the home of the former on Carpenter street honoring Mrs. Bill Bell, the former Miss Shirley Ramsey, a bride of February. An assortment of colorful spring flowers were used through out the party rooms. The hoitoree had chosen for (he party a l>oige suit with which she wore brown accessories and a shoulder corsage of while carna tions, gift of the hostesses. Three humorous bridal games and contests were played with prizes , going to Mrs. Paul Bell, Mrs. Raymond Foster and Mrs. Phillip Houmi', who i.nturn pre sented fnem to the honoree. Mrs. Zeno Lovelace assisted the hostesses in serving s&ndwiches, I cookies, cheese wafers and iced cokes. R. Spetdel met Tuesday night; and enjoyed four progressions of bridge with Mrs. O. This was the annual covered dish meeting. A green and white color scheme Was cleverly carried out by Mrs. Plott in her decora tions. Junior Woman's Club To Have Dinner Meeting The Junior Woman's Club held their regular monthly meeting on Monday evening at 7:30 at the Woman's Club. Mn. Grady Yel ton, Mrs. Don Parker and Mrs, I. C, Davis were hostesses for the evening. The meeting room was decorated with spring flower* The program for u?e month was by the American Citizenship Committee, Mrs. Craig Falls, chairman. Mrs. Carles Alexander gave th& devotional and some thoughts on citizenship, Mrs. Rush Stroupe, District President, was slated for the speaker for the evening, but due to the weather was unable to be present A short social hour followed the business meeting. The April meeting will mark the 17th anniversary of the Junior Woman's Club in Kings Moun tain and will be a dinner meeting. Ernest Barry Dixon Weds Texas Girl Mr. and tors. Q. L. Gregory of Houston, Texas, announce the marriage of their daughter, Ja nice, to Pfc. Ernest Barry Dixon, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Dixon, of Kings Mountain. The marriage took place in Huntsvllie, Texas, on January 29. Pfc. Dixon has been In the Air Force for more than a year. He is located at Ellington Air Force Base near Houston and he and his bride will live at 4005 Woodleigh street in Houston. Mrs! E. W. Neal, Misses Annie Roberts and Emelyn Gillespie, Mrs. E. M. Two Are Hostesses For Circle No. 3 Circle No, 3 of the Presbyterian church met Monday night in the home of Mrs. Grady McCarter with Mrs. McCarter and Mrs. J. W. Webster as hostesses. The meeting was opened with prayer by the leader, Mrs. Web ster. Collection was taken and a report made by the treasurer. Miss Helen Hay of the work com pleted for the church year. Mrs. Webster urged all mem bers to attend the monthly meet ing of the Women of the Church, and the prayer services being held each Wednesday night prior to the meeting beginning 4th Sun day. Mrs. Paul Mauney, Bible leader gave a summary of the ten com mandments which the circle had been studying. Mils France Summers Dinner Hostess Miss France Summers was a delightful hostess Saturday night entertaining with a perfectly ap pointed dinner at the Kings Mountain Country Club. The long table was overlaid with a snowy white linen cloth in the center was a low arrange ment of mixed spring flowers. A three course dinner was served to sixteen friends of Miss Summers from Charlotte. Following the delightful dinner guests assembled at the Summers home for an evening of entertain ment. King Of Heart* Met in Reed Home Dr. and Mrs. Nathan Reed en-' tertalned the members of the King of Hearts bridge club at a very delightful meeting at their home Tuesday night., i The rooms were arranged with Jonquils and gladioli. A dessert course with coffee was served when cards were laid aside. Margrace Club Plans Covered Dish Supper A large number were present for the. meeting of the Margrace club Friday evelng at the club house. Mrs. ? Buddy Medlin conducted the devotional. Falls, plans were completed for a covered dish supper to be held at the club house Thursday even ing, March 6th. at 7 p. m. with Kurt Webster of W. B. T. as guest speaker. The hostesses Mesdames C.
