April 26, with a lovely party
given by her mother at their
home on City Street.
Games and contests were en

cake with candles was the cen
ter of attraction on the refresh

The Parent-Teachers Associa
tion of Central Elempntary school
held the annual lather's night
Tuesday night in the high school
auditorium. <
Devotional, directed by Miss
Mary Mallard, Bible teacher in
the city schools, was given by
Miss Gusle Huffstetler's seventh
grade. The topic, "Our Guide,
Jesus", was carried out in songs
and readings by the group.
A play entitled "A Cousin from
Georgia" was given as the pro
gram. The play was written by
Donna Cheatham and Billie Sue
Gfbbons, eighth grade students
at Central. The cast Included:
Frances Franklin, as Janet, Billie
Sue Gibbons, as Mary Ann, Bob
by Houser, as Randy, Merl Valen
tine, as Mr. Baker. Peggy Jean
Gunnells, as Mrs. Baker, Bobby
Lovelace, as Greg, Buddy Smith,
as Bill, Johnn Sessoms, as John
ny, Judith Nelll, as Susie, Ly
vonne Lindsay, as Sharon, and
Billie Mabry, as Billie. Donna
Cheatham was announcer for the
play and Mrs. Juanlta Warren
was faculty advisor. The play
was given in a chapel program
on April 22.
Mrs. S. C. Harrill's first grade
won the attendance cup.

To Bridge Club
Mrs. Tolly Shuford was gra
cious hostess Monday afternoon
when she entertained members of
the Duplicate Bridge Club and
two visitors, Mrs. John McGill
and Mrs. C. T. Carpenter, Jr.
Mrs. Shuford used roses, Dutch
Iris, and pansles as a decorative
note for the afternoon.
When scores wore tallied, Mrs.
Jacob Cooper received high score
and Mrs. L. E. Abbott received
second.
The hostess served a frozen
fruit salad plate with iced tea.

Neal Cooper Noted
Mrs. J. M. Cooper entertained
28 little boys and girls Wednes
day afternoon in celebration of
Neal Cooper's fourth birthday.
Children enjoyed games on the
lawn directed by Mrs. Cooper.
Thie party favors were cowboy
hat bands, and whistles, the birth
day cake also carried out the
cowboy motif.
