H. Biser. A variety of fall flowers, with the decorative accent placed on roses and dahlias was used in pleasing arrangements about the party rooms. A social half hour was enjoyed before the program, during which time the hostess was assisted in serving a pretty salad party plate with coffee and a sweet course. During the business, Mrs. W. T. Weir, president appointed a nomi nating committee, a report from the book committee was given, books to be entered In the club this year were voted on. Mrs. J. B. Keeter, program leader, presented Miss Marion Arthur, who in a very charming way told some highlights of her two years spent in Japan. Kenny Steffy Has Party Monday On His Birthday Little Kenny Steffy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Steffy, celebrated his sixth birthday anniversary Monday afternoon, September 15th, when his mother entertain ed at a party at their home. When the children arrived they enjpyed playing out-door games on the lawn. Later in the after noon they were invited into the home for refreshments. The large birthday cake decorated in pink and white roses was inscribed, "Happy Birthday Kenny" was cut and served with ice cream, candy and a fruit drink. Davidson's Sister Succumbs Funeiv.l rites for Mrs. Sara Al len Ledford, 69, sister of Mrs. Cur tis Davidson, of Kings Mountain, were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Sandy Run Baptist church, Rev. W. G. Camp and Rev. Ed McDaniel officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ledford died at 12:35 Tuesday mqrning at the Gardner Webb ciinic, following an eight week illness.
