ty. A decorated Christmas tree
with other Yule arrangements
made a pretty setting for the
meeting.
A social meeting was held
prior to the meeting at which
time cream chicken In pastry
shells with bther party goodies
was served.

the devotional which was follow
ed with prayer by Mrs. A. H.
Patterson. ?
Miss Kitty Sutton gave an In
teresting program on "Women
Stars of Christian Faith" closing
the program with prayer. '
During the business, needs for
a family were taken care of. Af
ter. the meeting, another social
period was enjoyed at which time
Miss Grace Blanton, acting as
Santa distributed gifts among
the members.

Magnolia leaves and nandina
berries were used In decorations.
Star shaped cranberry salad with
party accessories was served with
coffee, pecan tarts topped with
whipped cream were passed.
At the close pf the afternoon
games, when scores were added,
it was revealed Mrs. Hal Plonk
had been the most successful
player, with Mrs. J. C. Bridges
receiving second high.

The Christmas spirit prevailed
In the home of Mrs. J. H. Rudi
sell Tuesday night when she en
tertained members of the Double
Deck Bridge Club.
The beautifully decorated
Christmas tree with the lovely
wrapped gifts underneath and ot
her corresponding arrangements
made a pretty setting for the ta<
bles which were laid for refresh
ments, with Christmas napkins
and tallies.
When all assembled Mrs. Rydi
sell served coffee and fruit cake
garnished with whipped cream.
Dishes of Christmas candy were
on each table during the game.
Table* were arranged for brid
ge and four progressions were
played which left playing prizes
with Mrs. to. K. Willis and Mrs.
W. M. Moorehead for receiving
the two highest scores.
Mrs. Hal Plonk was invited to
play with the members. When
cards were laid aside, Christmas
gifts were exchanged among
members.

Magnolia Garden Club
The Magnolia Garden Club
met with Mrs. William H. Rage
on December 5, 1963. Christmas
decorations were very attractive
ly arranged throughout the home.
Mrs. D. F. Hord, Jr. contributed
a lovely arrangement of pine and
red carnations in a red and black
wooden sleigh. She represented
Mrs. David Nelll's team. Repre
senting Mrs. Marrjott Phlfer.'s
team, Mrs. J. C. McGlll had an
eye catching arrangement of San
ta Claus and several sleighs lad
enedwlth mlniture toys. This was
flanked with candles and green
ery.
A very Interesting and infor
mative program on Christmas de
corations was given by Mrs. Jim
my Splvey. She brought several
things she had made to Illustrate
her discriptlons.
All of the members were pre
sent. After the business, a sweet
course, carrying out the Christ
mas colors, was served by the
hostess.

combined In the decorations.
Bridge was played through two
progressions when Mrs, Ware
served a cranberry congealed sa
lad course with an Iced fruit
drink, a sweet coure was passed.
When scores were added at the
close of the fourth progression,
high for Club members went to
Mrs. N. F. McGlll, with Mrs. O.
W. Myers runner v>p and receive
ing second high. A visitor's gift
was presented Mrs. Shutt. In a
novel way giftc were presented
to each member.

Presbyterian Circle
Circle No. 4 of the Presbyterian
Church met Monday night with
Mrs. O. P. Lewis with nine mem
bers present
During the business presided
over by the leader, Mrs. H. E.
I,ynch, a new member, Mrs. Met
tauer was welcomed into the cir
cle. Plans were made for helping
a needy family for Christmas.
Mrs. P. D. Patrick sent each one
a book mark Christmas card.
The Bible lesson was taught by
Mr*. Paul Mauney. Mrs. J. W.
Webster and Miss Helen Hay pre
sented the program on, "The Joy
Gift and Ministerial Ttellof."
During the social period, Mrs.
Lewis served fruit cake with
whipped cream, mints and coffee.
