Mis. lackson's Mother Passes Funerpl rites for Mrs. Mary Efctelle Blggers Ashcraft, of Charlotte, mother of Mrs. Ho ward B. Jackson, </f Kings Moun tain. were held Monday afternoon at Caldwell Memorial Presbyteri an church in Charlotte, with in terment following in Sharon Me morial Mausoleum. Mrs. Ashcraft had been in ?|e dining health for the past year and had been seriously ill for the past six months. She died in a Charlotte hospital At 6:20 Sun day morning. Mrs. Ashcraft was 63 yearn of axe. She was born in the- Mint Hill section of Mecklenburg coun ty on August 17. 1S89, daughter of the late W. M. and Margaret Robinson Blggers. She had been active for many years in Char. Sotte civic and religious circles and had been a member of the Caldwell Memorial church for 40 years. She was a member of the Woman's Christian Temperance onion, the King's Daughters and Ridgeway Bible Class 0'f Cald well church. Funeral rites were conducted by the pastor, Dr. Charles G. McClure, and Rev. P. D. Patrick, pastor of Kings Mountain's First Presbyterian church. Surviving, in addition to Mrs. Jackson, are her husband, Sime 1 on Eugene Ashcraft, a daughter, Mrs. Harvey William White, of Charlotte, two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Wilson, Mint Hill, and Mrs. P, H. Hunter, of Charlotte, and a half-brother, I^oon Blggers, of Miami, Pia., a grandson, and sev eral nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers, nephews of Mrs. Ashcraft. were Harry T. Ashcraft, E. A. Beef Growers Meet In Raleigh All 'beef cattle producers are urged to attend the second annual Beef Cattle Conference to be held at N. C. State College In Raleigh, according to Howard CI a pp. Cleveland County Agent. This conference will get under way Thursday morning at 9 o'clock and will close Friday afternoon. One of the highlights of the conference will be an address by D. Howard Doane, president, Doane' Agriculture Service of St. Louis, Mo. Researchers at, State College will. discuss the results of some of their latest work. During the conference, demonstrations will be given on fitting and show ing, spraying to contrtil parasites, methods of dehorning, castrating and vaccinating.
