Kathryn Ware Entertains With Surprise Party f. Miss Kathryn Ware entertained a grouji of friends Sunday after noon, the affair was given as a surprise party for Ronnie Kincaid of Bessemer City who was cele brating his 17th birthday anniver ' sary. Christmas decorations were Used throughout the home. Enter tainment was furnished by play ing games. and watching the ball game over television. Cakes, fruit, candy and cookies wer^ served. , Those sharing the party with Ronnie were Derlce Weir, Donna Chathem, Jane Osborne, Jerrie McCarter, Jean Arthur, Lyvonne Lindsay, Cornelia Ware, Kenny Kincaid, Sonny Lackey, Bob Tate, and Richard Falls of Bessemer , City. ' Donald Ellison Marries Memphis, Tenn. Girl Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Ellison are announcing the marriage of their son, Donald Ellison to Miss Avis Smithson of Memphis, Tenn. The ceremony took place Sat urday, December 20th. The groom is a graduate of the ?Kings Mouhtain High School. He entered the service August 2, 1950 and Is now stationed in Glenvlew, Illinois. HOME SERVICE CO. /<' (r, Whisrtant Senior MYF Haye Party And Christmas Program The Youth Chapel in Central Methodist Church was the scene of a Christmas party and pro-: gram lor the Senior MYF Sunday evening, with 25 present. The lighted tree, undej- which gifts were placed, the glistening tinsel with blue lights peeping through th^ pine branches on the piano, the red candles and vase of white snapdragons made an ef fective background for the exer cises. Jane Ormand and Betty Prince were in charge of the deco rations. Eddie Gofortb, program leader, presented an inspir.ng program, "The Arrival of the Shepherds", using a slide In color of the fa mouse painting on a screen In the center of the chapel. Explanation of the painting was given by Bud dy Murray. The group sang ca rols. Bill Brlggs Invited the members to the basement for refreshments where he served cookies and cold drinks. Returning to the chapel the young people exchanged gifts, which were distributed by Bill ?rlggs. The group voted Sunday morn ing to sponsor a little boy at the Children's Home for a year, and sent $50.00 for this purpose, also Christmas gifts for the boy. A special New Years program will be given next Sunday. Methodist Youth To Go Caroling Tuesday Tonight (Tuesday) at 7:30 o'clock the Methodist Youth Fel lowship will meet at Central Me thodist Church to go caroling for shut-ins ot the church, under the leadership of B. S, Peeler, Jr., Youth Choir Director. Especially invited are college students and boys In service of the MYF. Members may also bring guests. Later in the evening the group will return to the church for re freshments.
