LETTER
TO THE EDITOR
-
To the Editor:
I am giving my time, at my own
expense, to build up as many rose
clubs as I can in our. state, so
that North Carolina can get out
front in the Nation as a ROSE
STATE. Oui* soil is the best rose
soil In the entire nation. The State
college Informs me that we have
200 kinds of soil in N. C. and all
are adaptable to roses ? few
states can make such a statement.
. This is the article I would like
you to print on your Garden
News page, if you will help me
out that much?
All rose lovers know that
there is nothing more gratifying
than to meet with other rose lov
ers and talk roses. The best way
to do this Is to form a rose club,
meet regularly and share what
you have learned with your neigh
bor and tell him what problems
you have had and how you over
came them, and he In turn will
share with you his experiences,
thus everyone gains a knowledge
of how to grow better roses. Too
if such a club is affiliated with
the American Rose Society you
are constantly being given the
very latest news on sprays, dusts,
food and roses. Our state, with
its fine soil for rose growing,
should be out front in ROSE
CLUBS ? if Tar Heels every
where pull together we can make
North Carolina the Rose State of
the Union. If you are interested
drop a card or letter to Mrs. E. M.
Richey, 629 Fugate ave., Char
lotte, N. C. and she will give you
further details on how such a
group can be formed in your
town. She will even come and
meet with you at no expense to
your group, to show you Just how
to function as a Rose Club. With
Spring just around the corner ?
let's get a rose club In YOUR
TOWN.
To the Editor ? Thanks a mil
lion, V
Mrs. E. M. Richey
