LETTER TO THE EDITOR - To the Editor: I am giving my time, at my own expense, to build up as many rose clubs as I can in our. state, so that North Carolina can get out front in the Nation as a ROSE STATE. Oui* soil is the best rose soil In the entire nation. The State college Informs me that we have 200 kinds of soil in N. C. and all are adaptable to roses ? few states can make such a statement. . This is the article I would like you to print on your Garden News page, if you will help me out that much? All rose lovers know that there is nothing more gratifying than to meet with other rose lov ers and talk roses. The best way to do this Is to form a rose club, meet regularly and share what you have learned with your neigh bor and tell him what problems you have had and how you over came them, and he In turn will share with you his experiences, thus everyone gains a knowledge of how to grow better roses. Too if such a club is affiliated with the American Rose Society you are constantly being given the very latest news on sprays, dusts, food and roses. Our state, with its fine soil for rose growing, should be out front in ROSE CLUBS ? if Tar Heels every where pull together we can make North Carolina the Rose State of the Union. If you are interested drop a card or letter to Mrs. E. M. Richey, 629 Fugate ave., Char lotte, N. C. and she will give you further details on how such a group can be formed in your town. She will even come and meet with you at no expense to your group, to show you Just how to function as a Rose Club. With Spring just around the corner ? let's get a rose club In YOUR TOWN. To the Editor ? Thanks a mil lion, V Mrs. E. M. Richey 629 Fugate ave. Charlotte,- N. C. ??? tut.. Once more we pause to welcome to our hearts the spirit of this blessed May it renew the great warmth of reverent love in the hearts of all men, and may this Christmas Day herald the fulfillment of all our prayers for joy and to all our brothers throughout the world. PHIFER HARDWARE COMPANY DEAR FRIENDS AND PATRONS: It would be amiss at this season of the year if we did not pause to convey to each and everyone our best wishes for a very Merry Christmas season. At this occasion, we want to thank you for the fine patronage you have ^ given us during the year and to offer the hope that Joy will be the reigning theme in every home in this community. Our best wishes, too, for a Most Prosperous, Happy New Year. T.W. GRAYSON Grayson's Jewelry - The Jewel Box Corner Mountain At Cherokee Battleground Ave.
