his pastorate of First Baptist
church. His resignation takes ef

Baptist Church met at the home
of Mrs. E. A. Hambright. Mrs.
B. F. Bird gave the devotional.

gram. Mrs. Hambright served de

and boys of the First Baptist
Church enjoyed a wiener roast
and hay ride on Friday evening. |

Grist is expected to arrive in
New York from Germany the
latter part of the week. He has
served in Germany with the Sec
ond Armored Division, entering
the armeJ forces April 26, 1951.
He is the sen of Mrs. George Al
len of Kings Mountain, and is
to be discharged to inactive sta
tus with the army. ~

Corporal Bruce Huffstetler,
stationed with the Air Force at
the Albrook Air base at Canal
Zone in Panama and his wife,
the former Miss Barbara Huff
man, are spending a leave with
Mr. and Mrs. R, T. Huffstetler,
his parents, on route 2, Kings
Mountain. Cpl. Huffstetler . is
serving with the 1978th A ACS
Squadron at the Canal Zone.

FROM KOREA
First Lieutenant George \V.
Tolleson is currently on leave
here with his wife, the former
Miss Betty Lynch, and his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. W- W. Tolle
son. Serving with the 25th in
fantry division, he had spent 14
months overseas in Korea. He
entered the service August of
1951 and has been awarded the
Bronze Star. Following his leave,
Lieutenant Tolleson is to report
to Fort Bragg where he is to a
wait a release from service in
August oi this year.
