For Miss Helen Ledford
? A beautiful green and white
cake cutting was given Saturday
night by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Led
ford at their home honoring their
daughter, Miss Helen Sue Led
lord, whose marriage to Burnie
Allen was solemnized Sunday al^
ternoon.
Miss Ledford had selected as
her costume for the occasion a
white dress with which she wove
pink accessories.
The refreshment table was
covered with a white cloth, where
? a green and white three tiered
cake held the spotlight as ? cen
terpiece.

Gives Bridge Parties
Mrs. John O. Plonk, Jr., enter
tained with two prettily planned
bridge parties Tuesday at her
home in Crescent Circle.
The first party was given in
theTTternoon when guests were
invited to make up three tables
for bridge.
An original design of decor u
tillzing gardenias and green fo
liage , the silver pitcher with the
gladioli and lilies, and the pink
roses In silver containers created
picturesque focal points through
out the home.
The guests enjoyed the game
in progressions and when cards
were laid aside, scores were add
ed and Mrs. Paul M, Neisler, pro
ved to be the recipient of the
high score award. Mrs. J. H. Ar
thur was runner up and received
second high award. Mrs. Ben
Hudson, a recent bride, re
ceived a guest gift in linen.
Mrs. Bobbie Maynard of Key
West, Florida was an out-of-town
guest.
Tuesday night, guests were in
vited to make up lour tables for
bridge.
After several interesting pro
gressions, it was revealed Mrs. . .
Bruce Thorburn had scored the
highest with Mrs. C. T. Carpenter,
Jr., runner up. Each received at
tractive gifts.
The hostess was assisted by
Mrs. Tommie Harper in serving
an enticing phrty plate of salad,
sandwiches, sweets, and fruit
punch.

Gives Brides-Maids Luncheon
Saturday at one o'clock, Mrs.
M. A. Ware, Jr., entertained at
the Country Club with an excep
tionally lovely luncheon for Miss
Barbara Gault, bride-elect of
Sunday, and her bridal atten
dants.
The bride-elect chose a chic,
sunback dress in grey taffeta
rhinestone trimmed, using white
accessories.
A color scneme of pink and
white was used throughout the
dining room. On the beautifully
appointed table, the hostess used
white imported mats. At one end
of the table an arrangement of
pink and white carnations, daises,
and gypsophlia was used as a
background for white tapering
candles. A garland of pink gyp
sophlia and white carnations was
entwined down the table to form
an "S." The guests found their
places with place cards decorated
with sweetheart roses, the bride's
place being marked with a cor
sage of pink rhododendrons.
An arrangement of pink Queen
Anne's lace, white gladioli and
daisies in an antique white glove
container was used on the mantel
with white candles.
On the console table a vlnelf
compote of milk glass contained
white gladioli, pink carnations,
and daisies.
After the two course luncheon
was served, the bride-elect pre
sented her attendants ring- shap
ed pearl earrings, which they
wore in the wedding.
Mrs. Claude Hambright Fetes
Contract Bridge Club
Mrs, Claude Hambright delight
fully entertained members of the
Contract Club and one additional
guest at her home Tuesday after
noon.
Hermacalis lilies and magnoli
were used in the decorative
decor.
Tables were appointed and
when guests assembled, ice
cream, cake, and tea was served.
Bridge was played in progres
sions which left playing prizes
with Mrs. W. B. Shutt and Mrs.
Marshall Heavner for making the
two highest scores. ,
Mrs. Shutt was a special guest
of the hostess.

Entre Klous Bridge Club
The home of Mrs. H. C. Mayes
was in festive mood Tuesday af
ternoon when she entertained
members of the Entre-Nous Club,
Red and white snapdragons and
mixed arrangements were placed
at vantage points about the home.
At refreshment time the hos
tess served homemade ice cream
and pound cake.
'Scores were tallied, which re
vealed Mrs. O. O. Jackson had
been the most successful player
with Mrs. Boyer Murray runner
up and receivng second high
prize.
