luniors Trip Asheville 13-7; lose Two To Gastonia. One To Hickory , .1. - ^ Kings Mountain's American Legion juniors defeated Ashe ville here last Friday night, 13-7 for one victory in lour games during the past six days and were scheduled at Morganton last night (Wednesday.) The local nine dropped games to Hickory last Thursday nigh^ at Hickory toy 10-1 and to Gasto nia, 10-4 here Monday night and 10*0 at Oastonir Tuesday after noon. During the past week, three Kings Mountain pitchers went the full route In each game for the first time this season Southpaw Albert Anderson struck out 11, walked four and , allowed 10 hits at Hickory. He came back here Monday, allow ing Gastonia 11 hits while strik ing out seven and walking sev en. . Presbyterian Youth At Flat Rock Camp Twenty-second annual Senior High Fellowship conference for Kings Mountain Presbytery young people began Monday at Kings Mountain Presbytery camp at Flat Rock, near Saluda. Rev. Park H. Moore, pastor of Shiioh Presbyterian church in Grover, is director of the week's camp, which closes Saturday. Theme of the program is "Christ To the World Through Me." Cho ccolocco Corridor, a hot dusty gap In the mountain range to the East of this pot, once again became a battle field for two regiments, the 119th and the 120th, of the 30th "Old Hickory" Division as Aggressor Maneuvers began here today. Kings Mountain's Hq. & Hq. Co., Is a unit of the 120th In fantry Regiment. Umpired by regular Army in structors. In co-operation with the intelligence and operations sections of the division, the mane uvers are designed to give* the men most of the effects of war tahe without the actual use of ammunition. All troops will be in the field until Thursday. Before leaving the comforts of the fort for the mountain ridges, the men enjoyed a full weekend which included a division parade, the first elimination rounds of a 106-team Softball tournament, a division-wide revival, a steak din ner, and numerous special ser vices entertainments. In ll? novel religious revival, a total of 68 Guardsmen profes sed a serious interest in Religion, even though the feature service was rained out on Sunday even ing. The two morning services were well attended. Col. John M. Fain, a lay evangelist from Atlan ta, and Major General Paul H. Jordan, division commander, con ducted the services. Governor Frank G. Clements of Tennessee, the youngest governor in the nation, was the honor guest at the Saturday parade which included the entire 7500-member division. For the field soldiers, the week end brought respite from the first toil of the encampment and set them up for the second weeks action, which is always the hard est. Main figures in the division sic at First Presbyterian church here, and Mrs. Paul Mauney, of Kings Mountain, is one of the counsellors. Rev. J. Eade Anderson, pastor of Olney Presbyterian Church, Gastonla, and former Kings Mountain supply pastor, is vesper speaker.
