Vacation Bible School At Giovei Chuiches Showing Good Attendance GROVER ? Revival services will begin Sunday, August 2, at Bethany Baptist church with Rev. Kenneth HoUlfield, pastor, to do the preaching and Marvin Dixon of Shelby directing the music. Vacation Bible school is in pro gress this week at Shiloh Presby terian church, and First Baptist church. Rev. Park Moore is supt. Of Shiloh and Mrs. A. FV; Collins is Supt. and Mrs. H. L. Beam as sociate supt. at " First Baptist church. The 75 children that were en rolled at First Baptist church Friday afternoon were In the parade and were served refresh ments. Mrs. W. F. Powell has return ed from a business trip to Atlan ta. (la., while there she visited Mr. and Mrs. A O. Dillingham who are former residents of G ro ver. Mr. and Mrs. Roy llaga and Bon of Arlington, Va.'are visiting her parents, Mr, and Mrs, W. S. I Ticks, Sr. Miss Sue Keeter spent last week with Lt-. and Mrs. "Dub" Hicks of Greenville. She was ac companied home on Friday by Lt. and Mrs. Hicks, who sj>ent the weekend with homefolks. Pfc. and Mrs. Carson Carner of Columbia spent the weekend with homefolks. Bobby Keeter, USN, of Norfolk, Virginia spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Keeter. Itis wife of Lawridale was also a guest. . Mrs. Eunice Norman and Mrs. Rcola Beam have returned from Myrtle Beach, where they spent several days. Mrs. James Blalock spent sev eral days with Mr. and Mrs, A. G. Dillingham of Atlanta. Cox. well-known j Kings Mountain man recently re leased to Inactive duty status by the army, has joined Victory Chevrolet Company, Ina, as a salesman, it was announced this .week by \V. G. Grantham, gener al manager. ? Mr. Co x, son of Mr. and Mrs. tt. F. Cox, recently returned -to the United States from duty in Tokyo, Japan, where he served with an M. P. unit. He' held the rank of first lieutenant when re leased to inactive duty status. ? A graduate of Kings Mountain high school. Mr. Cox spent five and one-half years in the army. His overseas duty included, in addition to his service in Japan, a tour of duty in Hawaii. He was commissioned a second lieutenant after attending the army's Offi cer Candidate school at Fort Kiley, Kans. rived from Calif, on Monday to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. B. I lerndon. Charlie Harry arrived home by plane from the Polio Founda tion at Warm Springs. Gebrgia on Thursday. His condition is very much improved and he is able to get out in his wheel chair.
